I have to get an early start today. Partly to set up for an experiment before i teach today, and partly to decorate a coworker's desk with red, white and blue streamers. He's from Russia, but took his citizenship exam Tuesday and his citizenship oath yesterday. I've known him since he first came to the states as a post doc when i was still a grad student. He's very happy to be a US citizen now

Congratulations to your coworker, CES!

I remember the day I took my oath--it was incredibly moving!

I love this country.

Atty, that baby LED light costume is freaky but I like it! I wonder if my 2.5yr old niece would rock a costume like that?

I've gotta go to the hospital well before the @r$e-crack of dawn tomorrow morning for surgery; I've broken my leg twice in just over 4 months. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight tonight, blah blah blah. And I have no idea what I should eat for dinner/supper!!!

Any suggestions?
