Good early early morning Snails 
Oddly, most of the people I know in NY are socially progressive...but it seems that our local government is conservative. There are way too many nanny state policy proposals, with the soda ban only being one that has gotten a ton of press. I don't drink soda either (it's been years), but that doesn't mean I might not want one some day. I firmly believe that if our local government is truly concerned about obesity, they would tackle the problem from more than one direction instead of trying to ban sodas larger than 16 ounces in certain places (restaurants, movie theaters, and stadiums). I don't know anyone that eats 3 meals a day at those venues...besides, I've seen plenty of thin people drinking very large sodas...so if you're thin enough, why should you not be allowed to buy that very large soda? Why does our local government allow food deserts to exist in one of the largest/richest cities in the country? I'll stop here before I really get on a roll (or a troll).....Hehehe...
California is bad, but NY is even worse.
Our cigs are still ~6 bucks a pack. And unlimited soda!

(....and "they" are working on banning e-cigs now too. I lost count of the number of letters I've written to representatives

I make my own soda. So screw em. Besides....I'm looking at using xylitol as a sweetener...the soda companies won't use it because it costs more than the nasty artificial sweeteners and would cut into their profits.
