My barn cats did fine at -12 degrees. Course...they have a room in the barn that has heat lamps, straw bales and microfiber blankets so...there's that.

Hi CES! Still coughing and didn't get dressed today but I am up! One of our ferals is lying out back on a lounge chair - haven't seen the others yet. I haven't been down to the Cracker Barrel since stocking down there - hope they survived.

I think mine have safe places, since I've never seen them wet.. I did make them a homeless kitty shelter, just in case.

usually cats are very adept finding shelter given half a chance but i guess there are limits to the minimum temps they can survive .... sigh

I know people around where I live that think I'm crazy for even feeding a barn cat(some don't feed them). Shooooot...they get canned cat food in the mornings and dry(not cheap)cat food at night. And...they have a heated water bowl. I...I don't see how people can just not feed their barn cats. I know they're supposed to catch mice and rats but...mine do that too. Course mine all weigh like 15 - 18 pounds!
