So, this is my girl beastie when she was little. I helped my friend spring her from the pound when she was 4 months old. When he moved to a studio apartment, she would come visit to play with my other beasties, and stay for awhile. As she got bigger, no matter how much he walked her, she refused to go to potty on a leash, preferring to wait until they go back to the apartment. Her visits got longer and longer, and she gradually became a permanent beastie. Almost 8 years later she STILL won't do her business while attached to a leash

this is also the friend that died unexpectedly Friday. I'm giving the girl lots of extra hugs. She doesn't understand why, but she doesn't mind the extra hugs at all. :)

Just a quick, meaningless little contest.

How old do you think this woman is?

It's not a trick question.

Hints:
Yes... she *IS* a woman.
Yes... she has ALWAYS been a woman.
That *is* her real hair.
Those are ALL her original teeth.

(She makes me think of Carol Wayne... RIP.)

Winner gets nothing except a "congratulations".

Picture taken at a friend's 60th birthday party in 2008.

so was it her 60th birthday party? she looks no older than 35-40 to me.

I've never been good at estimating ages, and have gotten less good as time goes by.

No... she is a guest at the party (rest of the pic cropped out).

You wimmen are usually very good at estimating OTHER wimmens' ages.

"35-40".... nope!

I am terrible at guesstimating.....i guess we'll have to see what others say.

When somebody asks ME "how old do you think I am" or "how old do you think s/he is"... I refuse to answer anymore. The "LAST" time (years ago) I ventured a guess, I said "oh... 45 to 50" for a woman who was only 32.

But believe me: she LOOKED the part of 45-50.

Never again!!!

I hope Fran is having a nice belated Christmas :)

I'm using similar reasoning to Atty, but arriving at a different conclusion. I think her hands look 58 or 59, thus I will guess 58 just to be nice about it :) I'm with you Bear, I will not answer that question either...it's a trick every time.

Hi Snails :D

ETA: The woman in the picture looks like a swell, beautiful, happy person, and her face looks much younger (perhaps decades) than her hands...

From hands....65...although that pic is a bit grainy...

Stone... you are right. She is one of the most upbeat people I know... but it's "upbeat" BEFORE it gets cloying. You know what I mean? It's ALL genuine. Fun all around and someone who is honestly a pleasure to be around.

Atty: You're GETTING there!!! (ie: pretty close!)
