Any new on the test results for your bird yet Tibs?
(my vet bill last week for the 3 of 'em was close to $400, with shots and some extra stuff related to the stoopid frontline resistant fleas. Fleas are gone but 2 of 3 beasties are on antibiotics. Luckily, the local publix provides free antibiotics- even for beasties)

lethalp fixed - blaming it on slow as molasses forum when you don't know if you're coming or going ...... sigh
and forum not much better this am! amazing though, with a problem so serious as to warrant a shut-down this afternoon, none of our betters seem to have been affected!
got the results, ces ....... biopsies point to 2 different tumors - lipomas and xanthomas. amazingly, blood values still in the normal range, i was worried about liver function.
ct scan scheduled for october [estimate 600 to 800 bucks] in prep for laser surgery
reason for postponement - no urgency atm and new diet might help in shrinking tumors ....

Wow. I hope the diet helps. Lipomas shouldn't be a problem, except for size. I don't know anything about xanthomas. Fingers crossed.
apparently it did already - it was started about 2 months ago. since i didn't see a reduction in tumor size i thought no luck. much to my surprise spark lost 50 g, he's down from 788 g to 738 g. now i got my fingers crossed that the overall body fat is being reduced before there will be a shrinkage in tumors
and yup - tumor size is a problem. he has one next to his left leg approaching size of a golf ball .......
yikes. that is large. I suspect you're right, the lipomas won't shrink until after body fat is reduced (though i've never really thought of birds being overweight)
my girl dog is such a ham. The beasties were playing, i hear a yip....the girl comes in limping, holding her paw off the ground. I go over and check it, pet her, give her a hug. By the time we get to the kitchen to get her a baby aspirin, she's got her full weight back on it. She just wanted to make sure i knew she had an owie...

and with the tumor he's not very active ...... sigh
it was removed once before but grew back. i really thought the tumors would shrink first but i guess that was wishful thinking.
