OK.
1) Make sure the Num lock is on for the keypad (assumes you have a keyboard with keypad. Laptop users...May work with keypad option on may not)
2) Hold down alt
3) Type 171 to get ½ symbol (1/2)
4) Let go of alt key

Hey... I copied and pasted that from some site... so I only take ½ the blame on that.
Besides....why would you have to make sure num-lock is on if you're not using the keypad? Hmmmm??????
Also, for bbcode (this forum uses that) there is a format for unicode chars:

Also, you can run charmap in windows. ([Windows-key] + [R] then type "charmap" [Enter]) or Start->Run->charmap and copy them out or get the code #'s for them

I've never noticed it either.
Steve from V4L used to have (maybe still does) a very personal story on his website--it moved me and I decided to order from them when I first started. That was a long time ago.
