I cancelled the 1/2 front lawn rototilling and grading. I'm still having 6 yards of topsoil delivered and I'll spread it out - and overseed - myself.

1. Need exercise
2. Like working outdoors
3. Will save about $700

See previous post on "drag harrow". Also see youtube vids on DIY drag harrow. Some serious dirt leveling ability....all towed behind a tractor/ATV/Whatever. Could make a "human tow" version too.

Although 6 yards isn't too bad for the traditional rake route.

Also, if you're saving $700....yard rollers are $100.00 and up for towing behind mowers....IDK why you are tilling it though. So if it's due to weeding/grass replanting...meh the roller.

P.S. And you can RENT tillers for a day for DIY tilling and still save $500.00 or whatever.

Great picture Tibs!

I used to use a push mower Bear- when i had a small yard and it only took an hour. Now i have a bigger yard, and used a gas mower. But i upgraded to having someone else do it at the end off last summer- LOVE it.

Went to the botanical garden's plant sale, and to home depot for soil. Planted some perennials, got some hostas and a gorgeous orchid, re-potted some of my plants, and moved them outside. Have new soaker hose to put down, and other plants to move outside- but that's not going to happen today. I'm tired. But at least i don't have to mow the lawn :D

Hmmm... I guess I should have said a gas-powered push mower (as opposed to a RIDING mower). It does have a self-propel feature, but I do not use it.

I tried a lawn service twice in the past. BOTH used those hideous "zero-turn" bat-out-of-hell stand-up-in the back monstrosities. When they stop to "zero turn", the tire that is the pivot point makes SMOOSH SWIRLS in the lawn... some times down to dirt.

When I can no longer do it myself, it will be condo-time.

My yard isn't big enough for a riding mower- so the guy who mows my lawn uses a gas powered push mower. In fact, he uses my mower. I "can" do it- but i am really enjoying not having to.

but even better...While i was just vacuuming, the beastie who is shedding the most was in range. so, i decided to see if i could get away with vacuuming him. He was less than thrilled, but put up with it. Then the oldest beastie pushed his way in to get his share of attention. He LOVED being vacuumed  The girl dog said, heck no and stayed as far out of the way as she could.

I only have about an acre to cut....but with hills too. It gets old fast doing it with a self-propelled mower even. If I was in better health, I'd be in better shape too....

Don't get me going. Dang doctors....

But....Riding mower is nice. Weed wacking is walking...

Dinner done. vape break.

Hi all.
