Yeah, Dad... he looks JUST LIKE ME!!! Here, let me point out some of the similarities:

1. He has a van .... (goatee for the uninformed)... I have a beard, Dad.
2. He has too much excess facial flesh... I am not that puffy, Dad.
3. He is left-handed... I am right-handed, Dad.
4. He has NOTHING above the opening in his shirt... take a look HERE, Dad.

So, yeah... other than that, I'd say he is a dead-ringer!!!

It's doesn't work unless you either
A) Train him to haul stuff. Even just a harness and a simple drag would do it. And he'd have a nice "walk"...variety you know!
B) Tell/explain it to him in donkey-speak. Alas, humans can't do this...although I'm convinced some people come close. Thus...(A)

that donkey can get ornery if something doesn't suit him!

It's "lightning and thunder"... NOT "thunder and lightning".
It's a "lightning storm"... NOT a "thunder storm".

You can not have thunder WITHOUT lightning... so do NOT give THUNDER first billing.
