Hey CES....quick question that doesn't expect a long/laborious answer....

My aunt swears she benefits from vitamin B-12 quite a bit. Says if she doesn't take it...she doesn't remember words as fast. Thought it interesting. I usually think the multi-vitamin thing is a bit of a gimmick and take some every once in a while to augment diet but not religiously. Now I'm wondering.

So I was curious to see if you said "OH, Yes...or Oh, No way...!!!!".

Good morning all.

Pup? He's back to ...IDK....80%....

Still a little unstable. A bit less active. Hard for me to tell... he still has today for his anti-dizzy pills. Then he goes off them.

that's good news - now make sure you'll update once he's off his meds ;)

run your own experiment! b-12 is cheap if you do your own shots! :D

It depends on whether someone is vitamin deficient- and it's better to meet the needs through actual food. All but E and A are water soluble, and excess flushes right through your system so mega doses probably have no effect, but also no downside other than the cost. But...if your aunt isn't getting enough b-12 without suppliments, then they may actually help with memory

there are some indications that low b-12 is associated with memory loss/dementia in elderly populations, though it's possible that it's both b12 and folate deficiency. It's being studied in Alzheimer's disease with mixed results. But, I think I'd encourage her to take a multivitamin. If she has a b12 deficiency, she may not be getting other nutrients either.

(i can't find links that aren't behind paywalls....grrr)

Good Morning my friends. We are finally getting some relief from the scorching weather. Today will be about normal and we will be getting some thunderstorms. Tomorrow will be 30 degrees cooler that last Saturday and the ski resorts 20 minutes up the road are expected to get between 3-8" of snow over the weekend. Got a busy day ahead - gonna go look at some mink (the wife had a customer come in yesterday with 2 babies so now she wants to check out the breeder). I don't think we are going to get any, they are pretty aggressive and I'm not sure the wife is ready to bring in another pet, but she is full of surprises. Of course there is always the work thing, the horses, house work, errands, daughter, and all that too. Hope you all have a good day, I'll try to check in every now and then.
