And the perennial favorite:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

"Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."

If Fudgey is where I think she is, it went a little bit South of her

I am just hearing of this, listening to their local news live.

The elementary school, they have declared it no longer a search and rescuse, it is now a recovery mission.
About 2 dozen wee ones K- 3rd grade.
Completely heartbreaking.

Thanks for the update Classy. Two schools- heartbreaking and devastating. i was fairly sure that Fudgey was out of the main devastation- but it looked like a nasty line of storms, and i'll be glad when she checks in.

Katya, I can barely get past the first line anymore.

ETA: it looks like all of the students at at least one of the schools are accounted for.

I'm okay, the storms were far south of me today. The devastation in the OKC area is just heart breaking. Please pray for all the families who have lost loved ones and homes.

They are still looking for the kids and teachers in the one school, there are more than 24 missing.

That's all so sad. They say it was worse than the record breaking 1999 one. :(

I quit watching the news tonight. Got to get some chillax time. Too much emotional roller-coaster. I have to take a break from it. I keep imagining what it would have been like and just...I can't really...but even my imagination is so nasty that I have to turn it off. That thing threw cars and other houses through houses. :(

I keep hoping that there's a bunch of people they can rescue that are in holes still alive....
