I'll add another pearl of wisdom to this whole mess.

I was reading through the comments, a diverse group of them thus far. I appreciate that one person is paying 400/month for a car payment but that's my payment for the car and only the car (395/month actually), then add on utilities, rent, internet and care for dogs (food and vet expenses) so the young buck that spoke up is still very wet behind the ears, he is just starting out in the world, a pup amongst the pack of wolves per say.

Dripping sub ohm isn't cool, its dangerous and lets get that straight. Blowing huge clouds isn't cool, its frankly annoying to have a smoke screen appear when talking with someone. Not understanding how your atomizer works WILL hurt you, understanding the chemistry behind what happens when you superheat a suspension will also help you understand why it is bad. Did you know that you can cook food in a steam cabinet, here is some fun facts that it is running at around 200 degrees or less. Anyone that sub ohm's is pushing well above those temperatures so what is it doing to your lungs, the inner lining of your mouth, your gums. Do you even care or is it just being "Cool", well is it so cool now to know that you may be slowly baking your lungs, let me know later in life if you and your friends are still around to do so.

I'm not being harsh I'm being realistic, there is little information on how bad this is operating within the conditions that are accepted safe so why would you want to even push it further. I though the reason to get on to E-cigs was to get off the Analog Cigs without having to move to more dangerous and destructive alternatives. None to say the least you need to ask your friends if they know the different battery types, what are the max sustained amp limit draw, what happens when a batter gets to run away and starts an exothermic reaction, do they have a plan to keep you and others around you safe. Do they know oHms law and understand how an atomizer works, do they know why the different gauges of wire are different resistances, do they understand the amp draw change as they move up and down the scale of gauges of wire. Seriously young buck this isn't a game, its not a fad and its not something cool, your holding a device in your hands that if dead shorts will hurt you and your friends, just keep that in mind the next time you head out to "Blow big clouds".

Now that I got that off my chest the rest of the thread is amusing in reality, I'm actually glad to see the support for the community and safe practices. You know I was once told "To be the change I want to see in the world" and I would say that everyone else here needs to embrace that. Got to remember that though a grain of sand is tiny, when hundreds of them get together and with the right force can wear down a mountain. The change you make now will impact years to come, so be that change you want to see. :)

Just a thought...

I agree with you. Because something is "cool" is NOT a good reason to be doing it -- I, and probably a lot of others, started smoking because we thought it was cool -- just look how that turned out.

That's just one of the reasons I'd want to hang on to maturity, even if there was a magical device that could make my body young again -- once you hit a certain age, you realize how stupid the entire "cool" argument really is.

You would think hipsters would be all about that VG only juice no matter what. "I only drip 100% organic vegan VG and nicotine made from unicorn farts"

There'd be some kale in there somewhere, got to be... ;)

Andria

PS: and "quinoa" ;)

I have to say...

My wife has been on Weight Watchers for a few years now...
And it works.

And since she makes most of the meals around here, I'm am also on Weight Watchers apparently.
And it works.

So let me just say that kale is awesome.
It is super good for you and if you cook it in a recipe it takes on the flavor of whatever you put it in.

As for quinoa, it's pretty darn tasty on it's own.
:)

Is it possible I'm turning into a 49 year-old hipster?

Nothing hipster about Kale DC.

Kale chips are fantastic. My wife just takes the leaves, tosses with a small amount of olive oil, puts them in the oven for about 20 mins, quick sprinkle with herbs or salt when they come out and voila, healthy chips.

Shame I dip them in full fat tzatziki sauce, but anyways...

Could be. ;)

I'm sure they're excellent foods, and on the whole, I care a great deal about eating healthy foods -- but I find the whole "food trends" thing absolutely hilarious. I was eating brown rice and whole wheat bread and pasta in 1984, when you really had to LOOK for it, and everybody thought I was weird - which is true, I am, but I can't find anything weird about wanting to consume quality food. It's just funny, all these trends that start up and everybody who thinks they're anybody has to go along, chapter and verse. Too funny!

I'll stick with my broccoli, brown rice, and extra virgin olive oil, as my "trendy" foods -- and I even got my husband, who's hated broccoli his whole life, to start enjoying it, so that's a real win! :thumb: Ooooh, and wild salmon. Definitely on the next grocery list. And I always hated fish -- but that stuff is DIVINE.

The whole "gluten-free" thing amuses me too. There are very few people who actually need to be gluten-free, but everybody's jumped on that bandwagon too.

That sounds pretty good.

Do you have information on oven temperature?

Haha sounds like me, this afternoon I thought I'll just have a salad for lunch to try and cut down on this nonsmoking weight. Then proceeded to put buttermilk ranch, cheese, and bacon bits all over it.

Sounds like the salads I sometimes get at chick-fil-a; but those also have those yummy chick-fil-A chicken tenders in them... with all the cheese and the ranch dressing, yum yum... But cheese and ranch dressing are both good sources of calcium, so it's not all bad news. Just have to exercise a little restraint.

And therein lies the problem, no chicken on the salad but there sure will be some in the fettuccine alfredo I am making for dinner. :p

Restraint and I never have been good together.

I've never had any trouble with it, with food; alcohol was a different matter entirely -- "enough" simply did not exist. :D And also... blueberry muffins, those little ones with the yummy streusel on top... I eat them like M&Ms, if they're around. Hence why I like to vape that flavor, but not eat it -- vaping has no calories! :D

How right you are, Madam. Indeed, this ex smoker started smoking ciggies as an adolescent for precisely that reason, to be cool and impress chicks.
I soon realized I didn't need a smoke to be cool or impress chicks but it was too late. I was hooked.
My fist taste of cigarette was when I was 3 or 4 years old, really.
I smoked my first whole ciggie at the young age of 6 when I accompanied an older boy to the store to buy some feed for his pigs.

My first pack was acquired from a vending machine at the movie theater when I was 12 and smoked slowly
to last me a week until the next weekend when I'd hit the movies again and buy another pack.
But by the time I was 14 years old I had to take an MTA bus and transfer to another to get to school.
There was a mom and pop cafe at the transfer spot and since I was already working on weekends and after school
I could afford a little daily colada and a pack of smokes. One PAD at age 14!
I'd also save my lunch money, go without lunch to buy smokes.

Before approaching other kids, especially the ladies, I'd fire one up. Forty-five years later I was a 4PAD smoker and regret it.
I do have a pix of me in edwardian suit and tie smoking my corncob at age 14 that I like...Very debonair but stupid!
By age 15, I didn't need a smoke to impress anybody, I was cool. But I kept on smoking.

Now, I really don't give a hoot whether anybody thinks I'm cool or not,
I vape because I like it and I'm addicted to nicotine.
Anybody that tells you that they aren't addicted to nicotine,
if they vape nicotine containing juice is fooling themselves.

I'm sorry if this, the truth offends anybody.
But only because you're offended not because I said it like it is.

Now I'm gonna get my fix :smokie:

Hazy :2cool:
