Snow Wolf 200w With Temp Control

I just got the Snow Wolf today and I'm trying to figure out why after putting on a new atty it allows me to change the temperature or wattage by holding the two buttons, but after a few pulls it switches to POWER mode, and from there I cannot switch out of wattage mode. I'm using Kanthal on both of my Attys. Is the temp settings only for Nickel?
The Snow Wolf senses weather or not a temp control wire is present then picks the mode it needs. Temp control doesn't work on Kanthal, so it goes into wattage mode.
I'm kind of bummed, I picked up a Snow Wolf today from my local B&M. They had a limited, a white & a black one, I chose the black one. I had asked if this was a 1.0 or 1.5 specifically asking for the 1.5 but when I got home it was a 1.0 version. It's not the stores fault since they felt that they were selling enough of them to have the 1.5 which they obviously have in the LE & white but I just ended up with an older one. It doesn't make sense why Asmodus doesn't label the box as a 1.5 like other manufacturers do when they revise a model. So now I have to decide if I want to return it or if the store can even take it back since while it hasn't been used its not exactly new in the box anymore.
what a bummer man, are you able to exchange for a v1.5? whats the difference between v1 and v1.5? v1.5 has blue led and no wolf logos?
I thought all the LE versions were 1.5's. The 1.5 has the Wolf logo, the v1 just says Snow Wolf on the side. I still love my v1, its a great mod.
thanks, probably getting one at my local b&m this week. the guy i spoke to wasnt aware there are 2 versions of sw.
I have both the regular and the LE. Both are running 1.5. Impossible to tell the difference until you get home and mess with it. I agree. They should label the box.

I ordered from elev8vape and the box had a 1.5 sticker on the shrink wrap. It was only $89 free shipping!
I would take it back and tell them you expected the 1.5 version. That auto lock would drive me nuts.

Interesting, yours is the first I've heard of a sticker on the box noting software revision. Fortunately I went back to the shop today & they swapped me an LE which should (definitely??) have 1.5.
It was actually just on the shrink wrap. The box and manual said nothing about the version number. Good to hear they hooked you up! And yes the LE is with the new chip so you are set!
Does anyone's snow wolf say "Laisimo" when it boots, and "ASMODUS" when it turns off? I'm wondering if I have a fake here, it seems really high quality tho. The unlocking thing also doesn't occur when turning on, its just 5 taps to turn it on. Any advice? Scam or real?
I have the regular 1.5 and the LE 1.5. Both of mine do that.

My V1 does the same thing. Also, the 5 clicks is unlocking it.
One thing I've noticed is that the SN pulses in TC mode, my SMY is so smooth in comparison. I've tried anywhere from 30-75 watts & 390-450F with no change. I guess it's the mod regulating the temp correct?
I've noticed the same. Snow wolf TC is not particularly "smooth" depending on the thermal mass of the build. It's still pretty good. Better than some, not as good as others, at a very reasonable price. Smoothest TC is DNA200.

I love my new Snowwolf 1.5 200W. It's the best box mod available in my opinion. I like the feel and the fingerprints can be wiped away. I think it's up there and underrated.
Anyone know a way to get the v1 upgraded? I don't care that it locks, etc., but it has really become a pita that the batteries drain if left in the device. The look, form factor and function keep it in my rotation but not being able to just leave it for a day or two with batteries in it is turning it into a drawer filler by default.
What I've noticed it doing is it wakes up with no input every certain amount of time. There must be an internal timer that rolls over and whoever wrote the software didn't handle that as something destined to happen.
