Well, this is pleasantly surprising.
I bought my two cans of generals and started with the mini mint about 30 minutes ago. They are really very cute little items, comfortable up there above my eyetooth, and just a very pleasant, mild, salty-mint taste. So simple. I've started to get a little lightly drooly but am dutifully swallowing (hush), which is not as counter-intuitive feeling as I thought it would be, and am enjoying a gentle, familiar nic rush. Perfectly ladylike. Cool!
I did expect to taste ugh tobacco but not at all. The tobacco store was awful, everyone chain-smoking and bellowing queasy cigar and pipe smoke, but this so far is a very elegant little item. After 3 years of vaping I've come to loathe tobacco smells and tastes - this is just a little sweet mint peppery niceness. Will keep you posted re effectiveness ongoing, but there's the buzz, all should be peachy. Vaping backup, actually might move toward replacement, we'll see, no stress.

So why isn't everyone either vaping or using snus? A rhetorical question, to which the obvious answer is, because Big Players benefit so royally from everyone self-destructing on increasingly revenue-laden cigarettes, especially if we throw some spare change around at regular miserable and unsuccessful intervals for patches, gum and pills that create whole new mental illnesses.
Thanks for the help, all!

Vaping was a miracle for me 3 years ago, and has been. Snus seems wondrous, too. The latter banned in Europe except Sweden and what, Denmark? And they're coming for vapes, of course. Such a dirty old world it is.

And Norway, we are major consumers of snus here.
Personally I hate it, just cant stand the smell or taste of any snus, I worked 4 years for the company producing and importing just about all types here and I tried them all(quite a few!) But it's me and snus just not getting along.
Great it works for you.
Have in mind it will not be good for the color of your teeth over time.

Yes, I like the mint as well. Very nice. I even found it @ a local shop. If the fda doesn't come after snus, I may just switch myself. Matter of fact I may do just that. The fda is ruining vaping(sad)just when I adopted it.I forgot mine in the drawer till I saw your post. Just popped one in my mouth & I must say, quite nice.......Thanks for reminding me. Oh,I do have a 2 yr supply of nic so I will combine the two & stretch the nic out to 3/4 yr.:toast:

Jimi, see my post on thread below - I spent the whole day yesterday googling and researching and deciding and then went to place my order. Was wildly dismayed at shipping/tax costs and to discover that some popular vendors won't deliver to my state at all. But I was able to find a pipe shop very near by that sells Generals - a tin of minis and a tin of whites came to $11.66 total. Not as cheap as the old days but only a pennies more than the price at online vendors before shipping. I'm in Md., too - big tobacco taxes here. Call tobacco shops, I'd think there'd be something in the Keys.

Thanks aubergine, I've tried everywhere in the Keys. I even tried to special order at my local convenience stores. No luck. I'd have to drive to Miami to get some. That is a nice price that you get it for. Hopefully one day I will find some. I sure do miss it.

Update:
The General White was more difficult. It involved a lot of removing, dubiously peering, sipping soda, reinserting and frowning until I got it.

Now I've got it.

Leather. Salty, clean, aviator jacket leather.

I realized this suddenly while searching my tastebud reference file, when a brief long-ago love affair suddenly popped into my mind. He had a very beautiful sexy soft leather jacket and I idly nibbled on the lapels while sitting in his car somewhere exciting. He was a semi-famous poet and it was some of the best jacket nibbling I'd ever experienced. Things got better.

So I love my General White snus, which is a hot poet boi. :) :) :)

The mind is a wondrous thing.

Jimi, I hope you find your snus soon! Do they perhaps remind you of an elegant white prom pump?

Now I need to purchase a great big barrel of nicotine to fling at any FDA person who comes bothering me and my little pleasures.

    Somewhere between here and there
Pre pact the shipping used to be about five dollars and if you spent over fifty then it was free. I ran a sample order on getsnus today to see how it came out and evidently my state must have raised the tobacco tax. I'll just wait and do a large order from Sweden.

I dove in and bought 42 cans (4 rolls and one of each other brands) . It came to about 4.25 or less a can....forget exactly. Something like $220.00? This was with the 1st order discount of 10 % off and when you buy 10 cans of each they discount that. ( roll)
Also, I buy loose and bought the smallest tea bags on eBay so I make my own pouch. Big medium small, two small....
I'm already ready to try a half dozen more brands! Just can't untill I save for a big order. The stuff I got should last at about 10 months. $22.00 a month. I did it simply for WTAs. My WTAs in Aroma Juice was about $70 a month. I never thought I'd do it!
Tonight I tried Ocean Blue cuts....it was chew and I didn't know it. It was a little sweet and quite yummy. I'm afraid it's wasted on me because I won't chew...if you chew on it you get a watery mouthful....designed to make ya spit. But it taste good! They make a portion but it's supposed to taste " not the same" do some research on the brands and save some money. All but 2 of mine were good and those two are decent, just never grab them like the other 4

I STILL LOVE THE GOTLANDSNUS FLADER. IT IS GRANNY SMITH APPLE WITH A TOUCH OF FLORAL.
ALSO LOVE SKRUF STARK LOS. IT COSTS ABOUT $30 TO SHIP 2 CANS TO CALIFORNIA FROM SWEDEN.
I PICKED UP VAPING, AND HAVE NOT SNUSED SINCE. I GOT INTO IT AFTER WATCHING THE 60 MINUTES PIECE ON SNUS.
IT WAS GREAT, UNTIL I STARTED VAPING. NOW I CANNOT SNUS MUCH ANYMORE. VAPING GIVES ME MY VITAMIN N AND LETS ME PARTAKE IN THE RITUAL OF SMOKING. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST VAPE. SNUS IS GREAT, BUT NOT WORTH THE PACT ACT TAX.
PACT TAX CAN SUCK MY ....!!!!!!

Actually snus is likely a cheaper then vaping if you order smart. Ordering 2 cans isn't smart. They will ship at least 3 rolls (30 cans) for the same price. My last order I got 7 rolls (70 cans) and the shipping was about $50. I ordered mostly budget brands (OffRoad and Oden's) plus some sale items from SM. I paid a bit over $3 a can with shipping.

Other then that, each to his own.
