40 days without an analog cigarette.

I got bored and figured what the hell, I'll buy a pack and smoke one to see how it tastes now. 1 pack of Marlboro Reds, $5.49. Damnit, need a lighter too, .99.

Open the pack...smell em...kinda still like that tobacco smell.

Pull one out of the pack. Damn this thing is small and feels like a toy! Is this really a cigarette or a joke? It actually looked funny to me in my hand.

Light it up, take a good long drag, inhale and exhale.

JESUS CHRIST! THAT IS HORRIBLE! Oh crap I can't touch the end like I do my e-cig, that's hot damnit! Hey whats this crap coming off the end? Oh yeah that's ash.

The damn thing tasted like burning newspaper that had been wet and dried several times. Seriously disgusting. I actually found myself wanting the smooth taste of my e-cig versus the cigarette. I still get the hit in my throat with the e-cig but everything else is so clean and smooth feeling/tasting. It was like the difference of drinking 2 day old coffee versus a nice cold glass of Sprite.

The funny thing is that analogs still tasted "good" to me the day I finally smoked my last one.

So... Marlboro Reds in the trash.

Did I waste $5.49? Nah... It was worth it.

That was exactly my reaction. I was going to the airport and remembered that I had a pack of cigarettes in my car (the last pack I had purchased about three weeks prior). I figured, what the hell, give it a go. Lasted three drags before putting it out. Haven't had one since, and the pack is still in my car.

I'm still having cravings, so I'm afraid to try an analog :) I HOPE I would find the taste disgusting, but not quite sure of that..so I don't...I keep thinking maybe I should because then I'd be so disgusted I'd be "fixed" for good..but then I think, maybe I wouldn't! and I'd be in a bad spot with a pack of cigs I don't want to want but do...(none of my friends/family smoke menthol but me)

I think I'm not ready to take the taste test :)

I did that 3 weeks into smoking e-cigs. It was horrbile and I wasn't paying attention and burnt my fingers (forgot that they burn down unlike the e-cig) LOL
I think it's good if you are craving an analog to try it and see just how gross they are :p

3 weeks in, eh?

I read somewhere that when we *quit* anything, there are trigger points where we are tempted to revert at 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months. How much stock is in that theory I don't really know.

<-- so sez the guy who once stopped smoking analogs for 12 years. =)

A week into vaping, my one and only atty died on me....with absolutely no hesitation, I cracked open one of my last remaining packs of smokes.....

Worst 2 days of my life....they were horrible.....I've since learned the hard way what everyone told me....have spares....

2 months into vaping, I found an unopened pack of smokes in the car.....my first and only thought was "ewwwww, analogs!" and I tossed them in the trash.

Same reaction here!

The only difference is that my Marlboro pack was only $0.90

Loads and loads of people find this with vaping. I posted about it myself a good few months ago - it's amazing how bad 'analogs' can taste. When I had one, I thought there was something wrong with the cigs I was smoke. What was mroe frightnening was that after 3 cigs I was totally back on them for a weekend (was at a music festival last year and didn't want to risk my shiney new ecig - if I go again this year I'll take my ecig(s) with me).

Three weeks into it, and I went and got some beer for the holiday. Just to be safe, I picked up a pack of Marlboro 100 Ultralights. Drank the first beer while vaping - seemed okay - opened the second one and had the empty bottle. Well, I know from experience that an empty bottle needs a smoked cigarette in it.

I was watching a movie, but muscle memory got that cigarette up to my lips, and a flick downward got it lit. Then unfortunately, I gave it a great big old hit like I'd do on the 801.

And it was God-awful. The first lungsfull was so bad, I tried another, not believing that these had been what I'd been smoking for the last year or two (smoked Benson & Hedges Ultralights until they raised the price). Feeling nauseous and feeling that I needed to wash my mouth out, I gave it up after the third puff. This was not to be. I threw the pack away.

But I did find out that I can drink and vape at the same time. :)

Hubby and I split a cigarette at a wedding last weekend (we were trashed) and while i tasted horribly it reminded me of the first analog I ever had when I was 15.

It was satisfying but the smell and taste- bleh. It was a good reminder of why we quit analogs.

Yup I know exactly what ya mean!!! It really makes you wonder how anyone gets started to begin with. They taste gross!

I certainly am not trying to encourage anyone to "try" an analog because I don't want anyone switching back over to the darkside...but you all can win this fight with the beast...just keep at it.

I stopped smoking on January 5th. I have had no desire to smoke at all.
However, after reading over and over again, how bad they taste, I just had to find out for myself. I asked a co-worker for an analog. I couldn't even inhale the first drag into my lungs. I started to choke and cough. It was like pure sh*t. I don't know why I didn't take everyone's word for it.

I can't believe how my favorite old faithful friends got to be so distasteful. The taste that once calmed and soothed me, now
disgusts me. Thank God - since they are now close to 8 bucks a pack!!!
