Been pondering Vaporers thoughts regarding the flavor aspect of the vaping experience.

The WTA to me was too sweet, sickly sweet. So yes, I did not look forward to vaping it after the 3rd day.

Entirely possible this influenced my perceptions of WTA's efficacy in filling the void...

I can vape unflavored and nothing else for several days uninterrupted and enjoy it.

I'm a loser

Through forum discussion WTA is now coming around. "Whats left in an analog we arent getting since we know we are getting the nic? MAOI's............and a more rapid effect.
The effect time we cant do much about, so far , due to the base of PG/VG. At least thats what we speculate so far. We might need more ethanol in our mix if it could get past the atty and carrying the stuff we need. Nic or MAOI.

Might be your "normal chemistry" is low on MAIO and you were a heavy smoker getting rapid deployment of it needing it more than the nic. If so, now you would need high MAOI and the faster the better. Good thing is, it hangs in longer than nic (bloodstream 1/2 life) so you can accumulate. But it should taste good in delivery so you want to get it by that method.

A few comments on the rapid effect factor (speed of delivery). To bring you up to speed I'm one of those that quit vaping after starting snus.

It took awhile to get used to the slow uptake of nicotine+ (hey, I'll make believe I'm a scientist and call it N+) of snus. The first months I really craved that quick hit. It got less and less as time went on and now I prefer the slow steady uptake method. I still occasionally get a craving for that quick hit but it's fairly easy to get over.

For me I adjusted. It just takes a bit of time for the system to get used to it. I don't think the quick hit part of it is nearly as important as getting the N+ part of it. Once you're getting it you will likely adjust to the method of delivery.

OTD, I agree with the sweetness of the #2 batch of WTA. Didn't really bother me unless I got some in my mouth...yuck :p. I did aquire a little leftover #2 from DVap and took 6ml, added 1ml of 75mg to boost to 36.43mg/ml and found good overall satisfaction with the vape and toned down the sweetness enough to be almost unnoticeable. Still tastes bad in the pie hole, though :p.

Ah, that's how I hope to be :).

Stubby, ya write like a scientist!
I'm pretty much the same place Stubby is, holding steady and doing amazingly well.
I do not vape the snus, I use it orally. I use 4 to 5 portions of 8mg snus in a day now. My liquid usage has gone from 3 to 4ml to less than 1ml a day.

Huge change from what had been my norm prior to the snus!

I take the occasional pinch of snuff as well but I use so little I couldn't even guess the actual amount.

Well ,ok it looks like my flavor correlation was a bust.

So, I gather you guys are doing snus and vaping. Not, vaping snus? I'm just trying to get caught up. Wanting to do an extra of my own.

Well, a2d, I haven't tried the snus vape, yet. I kinda got sidetracked when DVap said he was investigating a home brew for us non-chemists. I think that holds more potential for an effective WTA. Hope we get the verdict soon, but this coming weekend's wedding bells are probably ringing loudly in his ears about now :D. Can't blame him for that. Currently, I've started using snus to get the goods I need. Works pretty well at keeping in my regular state of mind and seems to make vaping more satisfying as well. Never thought I'd ever use smokeless tobacco, ever, but the snus mini portions allow me to stick one in and forget about it. Just soak up the nic and alkaloids, vape when desire. No need to spit, either. That was the final selling point for me ;). Hope this helps :).

That's good to hear. I'm on the trail of getting something like that going here. This is all new to me. But very hopeful.

You guys are moving too fast for me. I'll have to start running multiple tabs in IE8 to keep up and not miss anything. I'm wondering if I can start my own brew with loose tobacco put into a tea bag? I'll be looking for some snus here locally to see what's available. I'll be travelling tomorrow so I'll have a good choice of places to visit.

Yah, I posted you in the ST forum to let you know we were here, but all I saw was your heels when the dust cleared :). I'm looking at snus as a new adventure and it's working out well. I was a pretty miserable puppy, before. My bulky 5'6" 140lb mass dropped to 132lbs before TWA. That put me back on track and snusing's got me back to 140lbs and I think I'm growing, too. Good luck on the snus around town. Just beware the Camel Snus...Blaaak. Doesn't seem to have any nic, either. Nice tin, though :). Marlboro Rich is not bad and delivers the nic, but way too expensive. My Swedish order is on the way and that's what everyone swears by. The local tobacco mart also had some Discreet Full Flavor I tried....double Blaaak! Good luck on your search for freedom ;).

Still hopin for the DVap announcement.

Me too, also :D.

Yea, we seem to be scattered to the 4 winds. I've been reading about snus and trying to get educated enough to make my first purchase. A lot to learn but seems well worth the effort. I still want to find a way to use the 4 pounds of ryo tobacco I still have on hand I'd hate to waste 4 pounds of Windsail platinum. I sure don't want to burn it up. Just soak it up and vape it.

PS: By the way I have 90 pounds on you but I'm 6'5".

Away..
Typical failure right off the bat. Marlboro snus.............
And they wonder why everyone goes for the Swedish stuff.

Product Chemistry

"Marlboro Snus contains pasteurized tobacco, water, pouch materials, a dissolvable flavor film (much like those used in Listerine dissolvable tabs), potassium carbonate, and salt. It is lower in sodium than moist snuff varieties. Unpublished research commissioned by Harvard School of Public Health has found that free nicotine levels were: Rich 0.6 mg/g; Mild: 0.5 mg/g; Spice: 1.2 mg/g and Mint: 0.8 mg/g. These level are noticeably lower than Camel Snus and moist snuff products. Indeed, it is likely that the relatively low amounts of nicotine are not sufficient to maintain a regular cigarette smoker without experiencing withdrawal symptoms. This suggests that Marlboro Snus is designed to be used dually with cigarettes, and therefore may not prove to lower exposure among its users as might be expected with sole use of snus"

 Hmmm, personal experience contradicts, Uncle V. The Camel sat there like a sweet, rotting fish head for about 25 min. and showed no signs of nic in my wanting system. The Mboro, for around 30 minutes, provided mild satisfaction and upon future useage with vaping normal mg nic at normal useage rate, I have seemed to maintain the WTA effects. Not arguing the superiority of Swedish by any means, I'm already a believer and my first order is still in transit, but I'd have to disagree with the Harvard study. I did let the Camel Snus air out before my later trials and the taste was milder so I found it tolerable enough to do 2 more 40 minute runs, but the outcome was the same as the first, satisfaction wise. I do know Marlboro works for me and Camel has a cool tin and a much better price....that's what I know...:?:,...or...I know what I think...:|....

Edit: The rowdy bunch over in the ST parking lot turned me on to snuff....Ohhh, man...

You do have staying power TV. After you get a good eye wash from some potent american nasal snuff, you get your hands on some of the worst snus out there. It can't help but get better from here on out.
