Day 1: Cheap e-cig from grocery store. FIN, I think. It sucked and made me want to smoke a real cig.
Day 2: Bought a $14 eGo set up. Better, but lacking the satisfaction of a Winston.
Day 3: Went to local smoke shop and bought a eGo Twist and Kanger Protank-II.
WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.
Nice satisfying vapor cloud. No huge desire to smoke left.

So, since three days ago, I've gone from 35+ smokes a day to 5-8 and I am anticipating less in the coming days. As of this writing, I haven't had a Winston in 12 hours and am in love with this set-up and my creamcicle 18mg e-juice. ...fu*k big tobacco.

This forum rocks but I have to admit, you guys talk about vaping like car parts... sometimes hard to follow -but I guess I'll get there.

When I went off cigs, the second day was the worst. I'm still doing cigalikes, because needed more money for juice (12 mg is too strong). However, I don't plan on being a forever vapor, I've even ordered my 0nic to tone down the 12s, and to do some chain vaping. Be sure to drink lots of water, and vape on :toast:

YouTube will be your best friend to learn about everything and the jargon. I'm going to assume you went to a tobacco shop to buy your setup since you went to a "smoke shop". If this is the case, find a local e-cig/vape shop nearby and start asking questions. They are there to help keep you vaping and not smoking! Don't be hesitant to ask any questions and WELCOME! :toast:

Hello and welcome to the Forum! Congratulations on cutting back so much on the "stinkies".

FIN was my first e-cig too. Not great, but did enough for me that I knew I could use vaping to quit a ~30 year smoking habit. Went from FIN to White Cloud batteries/cartos then got a Halo Triton kit. With the help of an awesome forum member, I learned to build coils for RBA/RDA and have moved to regulated and mech mods. Besides feeling much better without the stinkies, it's a great hobby. Enjoy!

One fairly low cost setup that rocks (and worked for me) is the MVP2 and mini-Protank 2. If you go this route, also buy a couple 5-packs of replacement heads for the Protank. And a few different juices (so you don't get bored). About two week in I realized that vaping is much, much better and now rarely look back. Much better flavor, improved health and more hugs. Not sure, but my dog might even like me better... Good luck, you can do it.

Congratulations! I tried an njoy CIG, it worked....for about an hour. If I'm having off brand soda, it just makes me want the name brand more! Heh, never the less, hopefully your urge to smoke dwindles as the days past. When you reach for a smoke, grab your vape. Once you get to the three day mark without a smoke, try one. You'll retch and it'll reinforce your decision to quit . good luck and enjoy!

Yes, the setup does make a world of difference. When I switched to an EGO type setup, I went down to 2-3 cigarettes/day from a pack a day habit. You'll still have that craving for a cigarette from time to time. That's because you're not just addicted to Niccotine, but some of the other chemicals in the cigarette. That desire will go away over time if you stick with it. Just try to challenge yourself to last one hour longer before your first "craving" for a cigarette, but feel free to vape any time you want. Once you switch over to vaping, then worry about lowering the niccotine content in your E-juice slowly (which I recommend). Right now, I'm down to 6mg e-juice, zero cigarettes, and an occasional "binge" of 12mg niccotine.

Way to go! Remember that Nicotine is only one of three important compounds in tobacco that (strongly) facilitate physical addiction. The other two are not part of the ecig deal - ecigs just provide the nicotine. Vaping gives you nicotine (or not, w/0mg eliq) and visible vapory "smoke"; it is not an exact replacement the way that, say, methadone is to persons w/opioid dependence.

Congratulations spitfirelance! And Welcome.

...and I still think it sounds like people talking about car parts. :) But I agree it is a great place to be when learning and catching up on the latest.
