They were my first experience with E-cigs. Thankfully, I quickly learned they are not the best representation of the phenomenon. I quit smoking the real deal on the 17th. On the 18th I ordered a 510 and some juice. I went through 20 bucks worth of the disposable carts from the store until Friday last week. I committed to not smoking anymore but I was getting close to giving up.

On Friday when I got my 510, WOW, what a difference that made! A tremendous difference in taste and nicotine. The disposable now tastes like plastic. I quickly burned through the 15ml bottle I got last week and ordered 30. I was watching for the mail truck today as I was down to maybe 5 drops of my juice. Thankfully my new order arrived.

My problem right now is. I was a heavy smoker. Close to 2 packs a day of Camel 99's. The only issue I have is taste. I first tried a Turkish Blend, and then one labeled as Camel. I know I'm not going to get the exact flavor, but neither one of these tasted anywhere near even a traditional tobacco taste let alone Camel. Any recommendations? Thanks guys. If it wasn't for this site and people like Shawn with ZigCigs and all his very informative videos I doubt I would have taken the plunge.

Are you looking for the smokey/ashy taste that you get from analogs, or the tobacco "taste" like the smell of a freshly opened pack of analogs? Also, as your tastebuds change you may quickly find that you really don't want an analog taste afterall. For example, I got a 30mL of Parliament juice from V4L and I can't vape it because it just tastes like ash. 2 weeks ago when I first quite I thought I'd want that, but it turns out I don't. I can't even vape the various 555 juices I've picked up from V4L, FSUSA, BWB, and Gourment Vapor because they all have too much of a smokey flavor to them, but the 30mL bottle of 555 from V4L got me through the shipping time needed to get a bunch of 5mL and 10mL samples from various places.

Now I've been chain-vaping FSUSA's RY4, Rocking Chair, Wyatt Earp, and Cocoa. The first three are tobacco-related, but they don't have that smokey/ashy taste. RY4 is vanilla-smooth, Rocking Chair tastes to me like opening a jar of my mom's home-canned green beans (sounds weird, but I'm really enjoying it), and Wyatt Earp has a very peppery taste like green jalapenos (not pickled) minus the heat.

Welcome to ecf! I notice you are from Oklahoma. We would love to see you in the Okie Vapors thread of ecf!

Congrats on your successful experience with the 510. Many folks started with the type of e-cig you did. Thankfully, this forum is available to point us towards better options.

The big "juice" question is one that plagues us all. Most new vapors are searching for that flavor that is just like the cigarettes we used to smoke. It doesn't take long to discover that none of the juices mimic the flavor of tobacco perfectly. We can only suggest you order sample bottles of flavors to see what you like. To be honest with you, I believe there are more flavors out there that I don't like than there are ones I do. Keep searching and you will eventually find what works for you. Everyone's tastes are different so it is difficult to really make a recommendation for someone else. The first flavor I hit on that I liked was Honey Flu Cure from Liquidxpress. I also ordered their Taboo, which I didn't like at first. You will find your tastes change soon after vaping and you may end up changing your mind. I actually prefer the Taboo to the HFC now. I have since migrated away from tobacco flavors altogether.

My husband still wants his e-cig to taste like a cigarette (he still smokes). He will only use Backwoods Brew's Applewood. BWB has other tobacco flavors which others swear by. Their waffle is my go-to flavor now, but it doesn't taste like a nasty cigarette. :)

I also started with gas station disposables but they were still cheaper than the 2 packs of analogs a day I was using. Mine were OK but not compatible with any other hardware I could find. I got a free sample of Wyatt Earp flavor from Freedom Smokes USA that I didn't care for so I gave it to a friend who was a dedicated Camel smoker and he really likes it.

Welcome OJD. I did the same route. Now you found us so all is good. You will have to let go of the smokey ash taste and in a few weeks you most likely won't even want it. For the first two months I chased a Marb light flavor and never found it. The tobacco based flavors soon fell out of favor for me and I was hooked on coffee based flavors. Each vaper ends up finding something they have as a favorite but the nice thing is you can switch between so many different flavors. Buy small bottles until you find what you like then go with bigger sizes. Vaping can and does work I know I was a smoker for 28 years and I have been smoke free for 6+ months. Hardest part initially for me was cahnging the mindset around the taste issue as I went from cigs to vape. Now cigs smell like nasty ... to me

My advice would be to order samples of a variety of different flavors form some of the recommended vendors. When I first started this, I kept expecting the taste of a cigarette (everybody does), but once I started getting into the flavors and found a few that liked, I think I would puke if I found anything that actually tasted like the cigarettes I used to smoke! They are gross compared to the flavors of the better juices out there.

That way, vaping will not seem like a cheap imitation of smoking - it becomes it's own thing, and you start to crave the flavors of the juices, not of a cigarette. Now, American Spirits are just my "old brand"....

Yeah, like I said, I know it will never taste like I expect a smoke to taste. I'm ok with and I look forward to every new liquid I may try. The Turkish wasn't "bad" just not what I expected. I still vaped it all! haha I guess I'm just after a nice rich flavor. I'll look into the Wyatt Earp, Rocking Chair, and coccoa. Thanks!

OK I will go out on a limb and others may chime in and say I am wrong but I vaped A LOT of Halo Freedom, Smooth 8 and Torque when I was on the tobacco kick. Some people love Halo juice others not so much. The smooth 8 was my favorite. It has some ginger undertones. The freedom is a lighter smoke flavor and the torque is a full tobacco flavor. I think he sells a sampler pack now.

Dude..... Man to Man, I still like the flavore of a real smoke. I know everyone on here says that will change, but for now you really do need something close or you won't stick with it. I've been vaping for a while and I still like the heavy tabaco vapor taste.
I got what they call Mar/bro from Best Electronic Cigarettes - Freedom Smokes Inc.
I got the highest nic level they had (48mg) It's as close to a real cig as I've found. Don't get me wrong, I am starting to love some of the flavors but I always go back to the tabaco flavor when I feel the need. That stuff helpped me over the quiting hump. RY4 & RY3 are pretty good too. Tabaco with just a tuoch of sweet. Smokes like a cig but leaves your lips sweet after you exhale.

I hope this helps ya man.

Cool! Someone from my hometown! The FSUSA flavors are great. If you want that analog-ish taste, try the PureCig.

Yeah, I think I'll order a sampler kit this next week. I smoked since...god..1987, 24 years. Sad that it's been that long, but nothing else worked. Not even having 4 wisdom teeth out. That ended in a dry socket, not fun. I'm enjoying vaping, it's different, but I'm finding definitely tolerable. Beats the heck of the gum or patch.

I still smoke a few analogs a day. After meals and with coffee, I get the urge. Still, my Ego always tastes lots better than the analog and I'm down from over 2 packs a day to 8 or 10. I guess I still need the MAOI component in tobacco. When I started vaping I decided to let the Ecig decide where I'd be and taper off. I immediately went 6 or 8 a day and stayed there. I consider that a WIN.

This is an interesting article about why we crave analogs and nicotine in general :
This is your brain on nicotine

Hi ya ........ I'd like to throw in my opinion & a Boomer Sooner also
& another invite to come by & say HI @ okie vapers .....

I never really thought or cared about the flavor of cigs.
I always bought generics & they were all nasty & the nastier the better cuz I would smoke less !!
So when it came vaping I was unsure where to start,
I tried clove types cuz I always liked D'Jarums ...
& tried the Marlboro type ...was OK ...well...if I mixed it w/the clove stuff.

And then I started to think of other stuff I liked.
never have been a candy/gum person, I do drink Dr. Pepper 24/7
So I tried the dr pepper....yuck .... I don't suggest that .
but DP has always seemed caramel-e to me so I tried caramel types ...& they are great !
Then I remembered that Butter Rum life savors were ok & tried that ... and it works for me too.

So what I am trying to say in my long babbling post is ....
try flavors that have appealed to you in the past or presently that are not cig related .
I have had people turn their nose up to some of the flavors I use with the ....
"I can't imagine smoking that !" remark ...but we are not smoking !
We are vaping & that makes a big difference  Order some fun flavors & enjoy :vapor:

I started Vaping the same way gas station disposable then moved on from there. There is a good thread about the cigarette flavor in the new members area here. I've ordered from Shown at ZigCig the Tennessee Tobacco only. It is pretty sweet and not really like the camel wides I was used to but it grew on me. I like it alot now. I hear a lot of positive things about Freedomsmokeusa but haven't tried it myself. Have you tried any of the other tobacco flavors from zig? If so what did you think. good luck with your endeavor.

I still like the flavors that remind me of smokes (but not really plain cigarette flavors) too: 555, RY4, Wyat Earp. The only fruity ones I could really get into were pear and banana, but not for an all day vape.

FWIW, I smoked for a couple of days last summer when I went camping and all my batteries died - it gave me a headache and tasted like burning tires, so incredibly chemically tasting.. funny part was they tasted just like I remembered them, I just didn't like them anymore.

If they banned vaping tomorrow I don't think I could go back to smoking, I'd have to figure something else out. Tobacco cigs are just nasty to me now.

No, I've only had the Turkish Tobacco from Zeecigs. While it didn't taste like I thought it would, it was still really tasty to me. It is better than what I am vaping right now, which is a "camel" flavor from someone else.

Yeah, tobacco flavors tend to be pretty nasty.

I liked them in the beginning, that's all I used to vape. Then I got some 555.... not really the same as mar-bro or Kamel. I still like the tobacco-ish varieties, just not the ones that want to taste like a name brand, they just aren't right.
