Smoker of Tareytons and Camels, 2 packs a day for 37 years. Put them in the drawer at 5:00 this morning and fired up the Totally Wicked Tropedo tank I bought yesterday with their regular (non menthol) juice. The thing works great and gives a great draw. Don't know why I would pick up an "analog" again, but I guess we shall see. Hopeful though, my 16 year old has been on my back for 10 years to put um down. So Good, so Far.:2cool:

BTW .. I do need to thank all of the folks that put so much information on this site, and all over the internet. I have spent countless hours reading as much of it as I can so that I could make good decisions on "equipment" right from the start. I did not want to be disappointed so that I put it down without really giving it a chance. Thank you.

Welcome and great luck with your quit. I can tell you the first days will be hard but eventually it will become easier. I am just over a week in to my quit and I can tell you that vamping DOES work!

Sounds like you have a great kit to get you going too.

Keep at it and if you fall, just get right back on the horse. Vaping will win in the long run.

Listen to me Please. This is the best thing you will probably ever do for yourself and people around you. Once you give it enough time you will wonder why you ever smoked in the first place. My main advice is do not let your e-cig equipment discourage you. Sometimes it can be a trial and error thing, and take a little getting used to how to tinker with them. But you will get it. Very good luck to you! And remember, you have how many Thousands of ears on here 24hrs. a day that you can vent to? This place (ecf) is the best, and the vaping community is full of great people as a whole from my experience. So welcome to the club, the best club in history, the club that saved my life.

Welcome and good for you!

I'll note this so you know what to expect:

There is a withdrawal from tobacco even with e-cigs (for most). It took about 2-3 weeks for me. It is bearable with e-cigs. Most think it's the lack of tobacco alkaloids. Anyway, make sure you have enough e-juice and high enough nic levels to stay with it as you go through the process.

Also, think about backup hardware as you continue on your e-cig journey. Stay tuned to ECF and feel free to ask lots of questions if you hit a snag. There is a learning curve to e-cigs and a "fiddle factor". It can be overcome too!

Good Luck! Don't quit quitting.

Thanks very much for all of your encouragement, and all of the useful comments. Seems to be going pretty well. Haven't really changed too much of my usual routine (substituting the torpedo for that after dinner smoke or with the morning coffee, etc.), and haven't given any thought to firing up one of the old camels. Thanks to the commentor that suggested drinking lots of water. Does seem to dry out the mouth a bit. (The smokes probably did too, but after all those years I didn't notice). BTW AuBadge. . . Don't know if they still make Tareytons, havent' seen them myself in years. (Haven't had a black eye in years either . . . "Rather fight than switch". lol)

Congratulations! The first week is the hardest and you have passed it easily! BTW, if you one day get tired of your eGo-T atties and tanks or they wear out and you need something new for your eGo batteries, don't forget to try out the eGo Vision/Stardust clearomizer. I promise you won't regret it. (on right of pic)
