So late last week I picked up my first e-cig, the small waste of time and money type (i knew this beforehand), just had to try it out before I committed more money.

Yesterday for the first time in 25 years I had my first ever smoke free day, and I felt F*&%^$G fantastic. Seriously, I felt really good, my lungs felt better, less congested I could breather nice and deep, my sense of touch in my finger tips had improved and best of all, my sense of taste and smell had improved remarkably and was noticeably improving, I was noticing all sorts of good and not so good smells.

My mood was also much better, I was thinking clearer in general than I have in a long while, I had more energy, everything was going great.......until the e-cig died, wtf!! Oh no you dont, tried everything to bring it back to life but no such luck.

I will take it back and have it replaced, but I had to make a decsion financially because the cost of the cartridges would have cost me close to $80 a week (when my real smoking habit was just over half of that!!), and my order should arrive in about a week.

So today I reluctantly had to switch back to analogs even though I really didnt want to, I wanted my e-cig, and I still do.

What my short lived experience showed me was that the analogs were seriously screwing me up everytime I had one, much more noticeable if you had'nt had an analog for awhile, I felt poisoned instantly (which is what is happening).

I can't wait for my orders to arrive so I can kick this tobacco habit in the balls.

PS: if there is another kiwi out there that has a spare set of anything to lend me to help me through in the meantime, costs covered of course, I would be forever grateful :vapor:

sorry, I am in Texas-or I woudl lend you what you need! but SOOOOOO happy for you!!! I think it was that way for alot of us! I know it was for me- and even when I am having a terrible day with my ecig (no taste in the vapor, mouthful after mouthful of nic juice, forgetting to charge batteries and them all dying at once, etc) I KNOW I dont want to go back to a marlboro!

It just sounds like you need some good quality, reliable equipment. Don't be depressed. And don't lose heart - soon you will be a pro vaper just like most of us here. It's just a matter of having good equipment, back-up equipment, and always plenty of juice so you never need to go back to smoking again. I always have at least three batteries and a ton of cartomizers (which are so easy to refill) and at least 100 ml of juice. I always order at least enough to last one month and order again well before I need it. Sorry, I'm not in NZ so I can't help you.

Try asking in the Australia forum which should also have New Zealanders.

Re cartridges - there is no cartridge that is cost-efficient without refilling with eliquid. And ripoff rebranders often do their best to thwart refilling. Obviously they don't want people refilling.

I know it is hard for you to get eliquid but that is the key - getting or making e-liquid. That and a standard well-supported model like something in the 510 line - Joye 510 is short w/ 180mah battery charge (short life). Joye 510 mega xl is long but has 280mah battery life. Ego or the simpler less expensive clone Riva 510 has 650mah to 1100mah battery charge depending on the length of the battery. If you can order from Liberty-flights.co.uk they should carry those. You need to get something standard, buy spare parts, get some eliquid.

And buy MANUAL batteries. Manual Joye 510 is totally sealed metal on the threaded end. It would be very difficult to kill a Joye 510 battery with a juice leak. All you have to do it keep it clean. re atomizers - yes they can die and carts are not the most pleasant way of vaping. But you should have spares and some carts. Dripping is favored by some (which you can so safely with a 510 manual battery). And cartomizers are very popular. Cartomizers are an added expense but if you keep a cartomizer damp with juice then you can expect 4-7 days good use out of one and somethimes more. In the US they are $2 apiece. If filled properly and kept damp they give a very nice vaping experience. The Boge cartos are the most loved and work well. Standard resistance ones can be used on any 510 threaded model, and the LR ones are hotter and more power hungry and are only to be used on 450mah+ batteries.

Sorry bout that spot of bad luck, but it sounds like you have a plan, and the plan is going to work for ya...what did you end up ordering, by the way?

An EGO-T with lots of spares, including a 1000mAh usb passthrough, anb both standard batt's are also 1000mAh, 5 atomisers, 15 cart tanks etc etc and it also comes with 5 cartomisers, as well as about 300ml of juice (from a chinese source, Health Cabin and a US source) in lots of flavours to get me started.

I am also placing an order for 5 more from a wholesaler, A: so I always have backups and B: so I have stock for when friends of mine switch :)

I think once most smokers are exposed to the right gear it's a no brainer, but it will need to be approached carefully with some people, my stepfather for example is a stubborn bugger, so the plan there is to give him one and ask him to use it before lighting a normal ciggie, after a few drags have that normal ciggie (if you still want it that is :p), so I wont be approaching it as a cessation device which could freak him out. But just hope it works out that way, which it probably will is my guess :)

SDMagoo,

Welcome aboard! As far as the gear you purchased, it looks like you're on the right track. I just picked up a couple of eGo-T kits, so far so good. Concerning your minor indiscretion, don't let it stand in your way of better you!

BTW, I like your stepfather plan, Good Luck!
