Hang in there! It takes time for some. You are an individual as well as everyone here. The fact that at least your trying is the most important thing.

If you read the "Welcome to the World of Vaping" in the ECF library it even suggest you have some on hand just to handle the change. Your body will let you know when your ready to toss the Analogs!

When you are craving a cigarette, stop and CHAIN VAPE for 15 minutes, if you still want the cig, smoke it and don't feel guilty. The next time try the same again.

Only question would be, what is vaping missing for you? Too cool vapor, lousy flavor, battery constantly dying, burnt tastes, not enough vapor, not enough fast enough???? These are fixable issues, possible a slight change in equipment or juice is in order. :)

Hang in there, as Iffy said you may want to boost your nicotine level and also another thing that helped me was to find an assortment of flavors that i liked. When i get a temptation for an analog I just swap flavors. I actually prefer tobacco flavors but i have read that some vapers have trouble with those because it increases there temptation to smoke. Just something to keep in mind. I wish you the best of luck!

Boost nic level! I always recommend taking it easy and not guilt tripping yourself. Sometimes the guilt compelled me, personally, to smoke more.

I can't seem to remember what kind of PV you are vaping...

If you really can't stand the thought of smoking another analog, the best suggestion I can make is to get them out of the house. The first 3 days were the worst for me, but you will come out of it smiling and vaping away! If you get the urge to buy more, vape through it... With some 36mg high PG juice!

I agree. when I started my little "rule" was that if I wanted a cig I had to vape first, then if I still wanted the cig I had it and no guilt allowed! my goal was to go from 2 PAD to 1 PAD. every few days I found myself smoking fewer and fewer cigs. I've been vaping since feb 2011 and I still have 2 cigs at the end of my day. and I don't feel guilty and I will probably always have my 2 cigs. from 40 a day to 2...I consider myself a nonsmoker. let the guilt go and I think it will go better

I am using the Cig2o. I am also on 18mg of nic. I was/am a pack a day smoker. I think I MISS going outside and smoking that cig! So ridiculous. I took my PV out on the back porch but not the same thing. It is so weird. I love the menthol vape so the taste isn't the issue. The battery is ok I guess as I haven't been vaping but a couple of days and not alot so the battery is still good. I think it is a mental issue. I've got to figure our HOW to get the urge to literally LIGHT UP out of my head. I so wish I was one of the people who started vaping and never had the urge to SMOKE again. I'm not going to give up though. I want to stop the smoking, I do. I appreciate all the suggestions so please keep them coming!!!

Don't beat yourself up for trying to do something good. A lot of folks don't even try.

Nicotine is not the only addictive substance in cigs. Vaping only gives trace amounts of those other substances. Nicotine absorption is not the same either. You don't get a quick, heavy dose from vaping like you do with cigs. The medical sub forum has more info on these issues if you're interested.

Some people can throw away the smokes as soon as they start vaping. I sure couldn't. It took me almost 10 months to totally quit. That was OK though because I kept smoking less and less, the last few months using only 2 or 3 cigs a day, big improvement over 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day.

Hi and welcome to the ECF :)
Try to take it easier on yourself first. Get yourself a decent setup and some juice. You might try 24mg (I started on 36mg).
Once you get the hang of it you'll probably just stop smoking or, at least, cut way back. I smoked for 45+ years and once I got the right gear I just stopped smoking. The folks here will help you out with any questions on suppliers and equipment.
Take care and don't give up

It took me less time than most, I think, but it will hit you. For me, cigs started tasting bad, even though I still wanted them. Eventually I just decided not to buy another pack. It helped me to NOT have them on hand. I was a pk/day smoker as well, and I drew deep and smoked em to the filter. I started with 18 mg for me, and that was enough, but maybe you need to move up. Also, filling my own cartos made a difference. I feel like I got more juice, and better vapes, with the ones I filled myself. Hang in there, it will come for you!

ps....I am pretty new to this, but I started with the Volt, and its been a great system for me. As I understand it, its one of the better "cig" shaped models out there.

Depends on what you're missing, too cool - a higher voltage may help (many mods to choose from), not enough vapor - a higher % of VG in your juice can help there, not strong enough flavor - menthol drops can help, light on the nicotine (common problem) a higher mg will help.

Starting out it took 36mg to satisfy me, because I wasn't getting enough vapor out of a little 401 PV. You might not be ready to trade up to some of the frankly weird rigs I vape now. :) But a nice ego/Riva or 808-D1 Volt are good starter sets. And some strong juice if only for the times where you are having a strong craving. You can vape 18mg all day and when the bad urges start, kick it up to 24mg, or even 36mg for a bit.

p.s. remember long slow draws on the e-cig not like a regular cig :)

Hi - I am new too and my best advice is - don't give up!!! Don't feel bad about smoking and vaping - or guilty. I've got an idea for you too - this is what I did just prior to giving up analogs and starting to vape instead. Buy yourself some Smokeeze filters - you can get them cheap on Ebay - and use them on every analog you smoke, without fail. Once you actually see the crap in the filter that is being kept from going into your lungs, it will turn you off of analogs for good. It sure did for me. I wish you the best of luck - and remember, it just takes time - YOU CAN DO IT!!! Lisa :)

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

The Riva, from what I understand, is an eGo clone but with slightly larger batteries (750/650). If you get a 510 version there is an almost endless supply of tanks, carts, cartos, etc.........I've been using eGo type batteries with a variety if gadgets for the past 9 months. Very easy to use and maintain plus it lasts a while on a full charge.
I started with a KR808 setup from V4L. I got the XL manual batteries and a couple sample packs of cartos.
Either way, there are a number of things you can try. There's a learning curve but it's well worth it :)
Good luck, I wish you the best
Rich
