The day I received my ecig kit and fired it up for the first time, that was the day I finally joined ECF.
The day I received my Vivi Nova, which was a month later, was the day I was able to switch completely over to ecigs.

A month as a dual user. I had 7 packs of cigarettes left out of a carton that I was going to smoke and not buy any more cigs after that carton was gone but the ecig won that battle. :)
Those 7 packs ended up in the garbage 4 months later.

I honestly didn't think that ecigs would really work, even after reading and lurking on here for weeks. I just thought I would try them. Did a boatload of research, in regards to equipment and health repercussions. Came to the conclusion that vaping was/is a reduced harm alternative. Lowering my nic when the liquid really started tasting peppery (my body's signal that it was time) was very easy.

I'm one of those that had a miserable time converting. Took about 5 1/2 months. Bumping to 24mg for about a month did the trick. What a relief to kick a 43 year smoking addiction, not to mention the euphoria of knowing I never have to go back to cigarettes. Toughest part now is to resist the urge to say to every smoker I see, "Psssst, I can show you something way better."

I think that if vaping can help someone who really wants to quit smoking then it's a great thing and I've read a lot of people who seem to have done it quite easily after they found vaping. It certainly helps a lot here.

But I also think there's a lot of us who vape and smoke. I don't think its all about the quitting smoking. When I first found an ecig it was about being able to get some nicotine when I couldn't smoke and it worked very good at doing that, which lead me to looking further into liquids and vaping. I never wanted to quit smoking because I like it but I stayed with the vaping because I like that also. Nothing wrong with doing both.

exactly, id still be doing both except cigs are expensive for me, and once i got used to vaping i hated that lethargic feeling i would get from a cigarette. got nothing against smoking though, wouldnt mind having the occasional cigarette is they were free lol

I tried a cigalike first & knew at once it wasn't going to work, so I tossed it. About 8 months later asked my tobacco shop if they carried vape stuff. He sold me a ego carti starter for 25.00. The next day I took the three cartons of analogs back that I'd just bought the day before, & he let me trade them for more vape gear & juice. I haven't want a cig since, although I have made myself smoke 3 over a week 3 month period just to reinforce in my mind & taste buds that they do indeed taste & smell terrible! I got a bottle of Castle Long Reserve about a week into it & discovered the differences in juice qualities & never looked back.

about a week five months ago..we had three a day for about four days, that fifth to seventh..one with coffee and that's IT, gave it all away to a friend who smokes who didn't want to quit...rolling machine, pounds of tobacco, tubes, cases.lighters, etc.

best day ever, stomping out the ciggie and buying a vape.:vapor:
:snicker:

I had bales of tobacco I gave away. My top o matics had custom kydex hoppers I installed on them so I could make a carton or two of cigs without reaching back in the bag to make the tobacco dry and stale. I gave away over a dozen cartons of tubes alone.

I got into vaping so I could be indoors and with my kids more. Smoking had me outdoors nearly all day, every day. Going to the movies was pointless and a simple dinner out or grocery shopping necessitated several smoke breaks.

When I started vaping and realized it might help me quit I decided I'd vape whenever I got the urge and if it didn't cut it I'd have a cig or three and go back to the routine. I was a 4 PAD smoker until nov. 3rd, 2013. by the 17th I was done with cigs altogether and couldn't stand the smell of smoke. In that 2 week stretch, I smoked 12 cigarettes.

I didn't plan on quitting. I just let it happen

Ditto, my first quit in Feb. But in July, I *made* it happen, because I knew it was possible.

Buddy of mine let me try his last year, but I didn't want to invest the cash. Year later we end up In the same class and he tells me he quit cold turkey.

He shows me how he's building his new mod and I got hooked. Got an ego style the next day. Two weeks later got my first mech mod and rda. Never looked back at the smokes
