As mentioned, I bought a Blu about five days ago. When I first picked it up, I was obviously entranced by the packaging and minimalistic designs, and their ad campaigns obviously portrayed it as the "Man's E-Cig" with that actor as their model. I used it for the first day, and I've been smoking since I was 15 (I am now 20), and I have got to tell you: it worked. For ALMOST a week, I have not had a single analog, nor have I had the desire to. I went into this vaping thing to try to quit smoking until I found this subculture, very captivating with peeps like PBusardo and GRIMMGREEN (the latter being my favorite). But, after seeing reviews of other ecigs and checking out the vast amount of vapor other pieces offered, I realized the blu just wasn't cutting it. Plus, other people say their batteries last about an hour, mine only last about twenty minutes of vaping, as the nicotine content just isn't high enough for me. I went to a shop in RVA (Richmond, VA) and picked up some cherry and blueberry 24mg, really good stuff and I refilled my cartridges, never to buy a new one. I wanted more. I went onto AltSmoke and bought myself (after many reviews and the price) an eGo-C Twist 1100mAH battery and a ViVi Nova 3.5 tank with a black and white marble drip tip. I'm happy. I ordered a charger from them too. I went onto MadVapes, bought myself some juices, an eGo 300orsomething battery to keep exclusively in my car and another tank for those menthol and other strong juices. I don't like cartomizers or atomizers (people are about to attack me) and I like the idea of having the ability to fill and go for an entire day. I'm also kind of worried that I'll vape too much, as my initial change in lifestyle was designed to help me QUIT nicotine, I now feel no need to and that worries me because I'll vape for forty minutes (constantly changing those damn blu batteries) without effect. I've noticed one thing. After my morning coffee (i'm a college kid, don't judge) I swear to Science that the blu doesn't cut it. I'm hoping that morning break will but substantiated by the pieces I just bought (ordered a sample kit from Johnson's Creek as well) because that cigarette after coffee is a hard thing to match. Anyone else know my pain????

The Twist is a natural progression from a cig-alike like Blu. I started with V2 cig-alikes and still use them for certain occasions 2 years later. You mentioned you got one for the car... It's not a good idea to leave it in the car if It's parked in the sun or if the ambient temp is going to cause your car to get steamy inside. A small eGo will easily fit in a pocket. And congrats on quitting smoking! Enjoy your new equipment. :)

i absolutely hated HATED my blu lol. i graduated to an ego device. id say you made some good decisions. as far as quitting nic al together, thats completely up to you. im using vaping as a reduced harm nicotine delivery system as i feel i have no hope of ever fully quitting. it was a fairly difficult road for many of us, you picked the right place for support. im also a chain vaper lol, ill vape until im satisfied then set it down and not touch it until i get another craving. welcome to ECF and i hope you continue to vape and stay away from the nastys.

Congrats! I'm on day 5 myself. Yesterday I found that a blend of blueberrry and waffle juice went great while drinking my black coffee at work. Something breakfasty could help you with that. Blu was definitely a gateway for me but after the frustration of the battery I shyed away from ecigs for a year. An ego is gonna blow your mind and youre gonna love it. Stock up on juice and make sure you know where the closest brick and mortar shop that sells juice is just in case. Dont run out of juice or forget to charge your batteries. Keep it up!!

Most people started with a Blu pack, and they never really cut it. I keep mine on standby in case something should happen to my Ego batteries or tanks. I very much prefer the battery/tank style system of vaping over Eciggs designed to look like analogs. Blu's only lasted like 30 minutes a piece for me per charge and it quickly became annoying. They say each cartridge is worth a full pack of regular cigarettes, but I am not buying that. I dont like cartridges either, and I dont think they are the future of vaping. Congrats on the new set up though, I love batteries/tanks. They are SO much better, the difference is like night and day.

That being said, always keep some back up batteries for your tanks. If you break, lose, or one malfunctions, then you have a backup and wont run into situations where you cant vape how you want to. Check out Mtbaker Vapor or High Brow Vapors. Both are online vendors with great flavors and plenty of vapor. The prices are pretty great too.

Juice is subjective to everyone, so a lot of people dont like giving suggestions. I personally will always share mine. I havent ordered from madvapes, but I have heard of them. The ones I mentioned earlier are great and ship super fast. I only vape 100% Vg juices as PG clogs me up and makes me feel like I have a sinus infection. From what I have heard the "Moo-Juice" from mtbaker is a big fan favorite. Its like strawberry milkshake flavored, and I LOVE the caramel, Vanilla Bean, and Orange De Sange from High Brow. High Brow has really blown me away with their quality, customer service, and flavors..................and I have ordered from a lot of places.

Haven't tried Madvapes but I have to agree about Mtbakervapor. Great juices and great prices. Also Velvet vapors has quickly turned into one of my go to's. Here locally (and online) you can't beat Hi Tec Vapor. Theyre relatively new but the PRICE and quality are out of this world!!! Free shipping over $50 bucks or a $5.95 flat rate nationwide. I picked up 2 20ml bottles from them for 20 bucks. .50 a ml doesnt seem too shabby to me.

We don't have blu (to my knowledge) but I can imagine what sort of product they are. Expensive carto based mini-look-a-like with very weak batteries, high resistance cartos (to reduce the vapour to create another 1,000 puffs or something) and marketed with the slick dubious claims that we all know and love.
People think I'm anti look-a-likes, I'm not anti them, I'm anti the cost and the promises.
I can happily vape away on a slimline 510 battery with a carto (probably 1.8 not over 3.0!!) and if it works, it works.
Congrats on finding a twist...way to go! :)

Similar story here as well...Really got tired of smoking, Blu starter kit (sucked), Grimm & Pbusardo vids, eGo Twist, joined ECF, etc. I knew right away that vaping was the key to me quitting tobacco and I haven't looked back. I definitely echo the suggestion of a back up battery too.

I usually vape 12-15mg juices, but with my morning coffee, I vape 24mg Tobacco to get me going.

You definitely made some good decisions with your gear. If you like the Vivi's, check out the Kanger bottom coil tanks, i.e., EVOD, T3, Protank, etc

If your looking for quality juices, check out Welcome to Vermillion River Premium E-Juice They're one of my favorite juice vendors. My faves are KY4, Butter Rum, Classic Blend, and Carmelized Cappuccino (sp?)

Stay with it and best of luck to you!

Blu puts it's vast resources into marketing and nothing into product development or providing an upgrade option. And they also lie about what their product delivers. It's good you were smart enough to do more research and find a good starter kit. Unfortunately, for every new person who does more research, there are probably 50 - 100 who just figure vaping is a scam and go back to analogs. That is the real bad side to models like Blu.
