I don't know what a lot of these terms mean anymore.

I remember a time when a Mod was something that someone Built themselves. Now I'm not sure what a Mod is because I here people refer to a Mod as just about Anything besides a Pen or eGo stlye PV.

Now there is APV. OK.

So what Exactly is a APV?

Well really its, "Just about anything besides a Pen or eGo style PV." It was intended to make a distinction between manufactured devices and homemade devices. However, if it does really catch on, I'm pretty sure you'll see people talking about the APV they made.

That's really why I don't use it. I'm used to using mod and APV doesn't really add anything.

Yeah... I hear you Mickey.

Seems like we had a good term for things that weren't Manufactured Devices. And that was a Mod. I don't use APV either because it doesn't seem to describe much. In fact, it seems to describe Less.

If it is made in someone's Garage from Parts or someone takes Something and Changes it, I call it a "Mod".

If it only puts out One Voltage, I call it a PV.

If it puts out more than One Voltage but not Continuous Voltage I call it a Multi-PV

If it puts out Continuous Voltages I call it a VVPV.

Mod= hand made, modified device
Apv= any mass produced, in a factory e cig.... Annoys me when people call things like a lavatube a mod, even though I might be guilty of this my self lol

...

I don't consider a Lavatube (or any other Mass Produced Item) a Mod either.

The problem with that one is notcigs actually makes a device called the VVPV. It's actually pretty nice.

I've seen it. And it is Nice.

I don't mind using VVPV because the Vast Majority of People will understand what I am referring to in the Context of my post.

BTW – You know why Retailers Name or Describe things the way they do sometimes? It done for the Internet Search Engines.

Think of how many people will see your product when they Google VVPV if you call your product the VVPV. Or a Mod. Or Both.

Here in Missouri, it's one of those fake cigarettes. Use the term APV, and people think you are talking about your 4-wheeler but you forgot to put your teeth in!

I'm not from Missouri, but that's what immediately comes to mind every time I see APV. I think four-wheeler every time. And I don't even own one. Yet. :p

Hehe I Googled 'mod' and found a site for computer modders! Very interesting, some folks are making acrylic cases, totally see-through! They have more parts than ecigs, so there are more possible topics for "modders" in that context.

Linguists say that English encourages shorter words, fewer syllables, it's part of the structure of the language.

I assumed "mod" meant home-made and "APV" mean a commercial copy of someone's mod, which I hope someone got paid for! But if fewer than 3 people are in the garage and they are making and selling their mod, it is still a mod.

Then I see someone say "mods like the egos" and think "Huh?"

Where can I go to find out what mods are out there that SteelJan would approve of without further adjustments? I am also a 60-year-old-engineer named Jan but in my field, we don't even change light bulbs, "That's a Hardware Problem!"
