but when I put them on my itaste vv to check them, they're reading 4.7, 3.5, 5.0.... everything but 2.0 (i bought 10). I think i found 2 that were 2.0 or 2.5. what the heck is going on? should it matter that theres no e-liquid in them yet or should they read 2.0 regardless?

I've gotten weird high readings on my itaste vvs sometimes, but they have always dropped back to where they should be on a second try. It never seemed to indicate an actual problem with either the coils or the vv3. There was just some discussion about it on the itaste vv owners group thread in the APV forum.
I went back to try to find where I had seen the issue discussed and I can't find it now (could have been in the main MVP thread, or somewhere else completely). The general conclusion was that it wasn't a major problem, but it was explained much better than I can manage. I'd try one of the high reading ones again with some juice in it. As I said above it has happened to me and was never a permanent problem.
I find after checking resistance a few times or firing it briefly will snap the reading into place. My mvp does it too....
