That's not always a bad thing. I know someone who was cleaning out his parent's attic and found a box of boxes -- for many years, when the kids opened their Christmas present, the toys' boxes were folded up and stored.
Because vintage toys sell for much more when they have the original boxes, he was able to sell the boxes to collectors for nearly as much as the toys they once contained would have brought.
