People get insulted when others say their PVs are crap in comparison. Not everyone is looking for the same thing. Some prefer quality and dont mind paying for it, others want quantity.

Philosophical really since what works for me might be terrible for you etc.

Disregard all that rot and do your research/read between the lines and you'll be fine.

Zapped, who is that guy that builds the cheap box mods? He's got 3.7, 5 and bottom feeders? I can't find the thread now, but he sells them for around $30? Silly cheap, neat devices, that might be a good place for the OP to get his feet wet?

Sounds pretty interesting...

I really like the boxy wooden looking mods, also I like the mods like Provari or Silver Bullets. I honestly only know of these couple names, but I like their looks.

I don't want anything HUGE, but the size of what I said above is what I want to stay around.

I want a battery I can use for a day or two, I can't really vape all day at work, but on nights I need something that wont burn out on me. I don't mind charging a battery but I don't want to do it EVERY night. My 1000mah ego has been pretty good for me so far, but it's on a passthrough cable while I vape at home. (A passthrough APV would be awesome, but don't know if they even have those?)

I do construction, so IF I was to carry it around it would need to be durable, but I wouldn't be doing that at all really.

The Steam Monkey deal on the Zmax is for a kit. Pretty good deal for $90. I'd recommend getting different batteries though - AW IMRs are very good. He suggests getting different batteries as well. Variable voltage and variable wattage. Best deal I think I've seen for a kit.
The vv/vw mods coming out are good. The Zmax steam monkey is offering is the Segelei - got a very good review from Phil Busardo.

ETA: Here's his review:

From my experience so far I would recommend the vamo mod. It is VV 3-6 volts, variable wattage up to 15 watts, reads head resistance, can be set to avg or rms mode, can run on 1 18650 or 2 18350 or 1 18350. And you can get the mod plus batteries plus charger for about $50.

If you really like box mods I would recommend the I taste MVP. vV from 3-5 volts a bateery that lasts days and comes with 2 nice dual coil clearomizers for $65

Perfect example of my philosophy.

Try it, $30-$40 is a learning price point. It is also a good point to begin researching battery types, chemistry and quality. Then charger reviews. Build a battery arsenal and get a good charger with a lower cost device and then work up from that starting point.

Again opinion only and no more valuable than another saying start with the best and save some $ in the long run.

FYI - I have heard good and bad on the Vamo... It's good but might require some glue work in the long run to keep it going.

As with the OP, I'm also wanting to upgrade to and APV. Started with a M401 and then a Volt, and now looking for something more advanced. This thread has introduced me to some mods that I've never heard about, i.e., the Billet Box and the REO-Woodville. This topic is much deeper than I first imagined.

You have no idea my friend. Welcome to theotherside of the looking glass.

It's a great time for vaping. Cheap entry level APVs, juice in any flavor, attys and tanks for every style, and a world of high end intelligent devices that are rock solid. Yes I'm talking about the beloved ProVari.

There are also some amazing reviewers on YouTube, and podcasts jammed full of awesome. Plus a lot of "Old-Timers" right here on ECF to help with questions. Ask away.
