Well I was becalmed in life the other day, finding no video online to watch worth watching, so I decided to go fishing.
Went to my favorite little spot on the Gulf of Mexico over here, set up my stuff, put a shrimp on the hook and cast it out there. Nothing happened for a while, and I sat there with my vape and coffee just chilling out, for about an hour. Then things picked up.
First I got a bite and hauled in a Spanish mackerel. Cool! At least I got one. Threw the line back out and noticed the pelicans were swooping low very close to shore, and then came the dolphins. Crap, I hate it when they crash my party! They come right up where I`m fishing and eat all the damn fish, and scare the rest away.
I got another mackerel, and part of it`s tail was bitten off. Oh here we go I thought. I was not wrong. A dolphin came right along the shore eating all the damn fish, and at one point I was looking him in the eye he was so close. He would come up, look at me, and go back under chasing the fish, then come back and give me the eye again.
I knew he was scaring all the fish away, and I'm pretty sure he was doing it on purpose just to mess with me. He could have picked anywhere along miles of beach to do his thing, but he wanted to be right where I was trying to fish. No one can tell me that dolphins do not have a malicious sense of humor. I swear he was sneering at me when he came up and looked at me!
F' off Flipper I was thinking. Wot an ......!
He finally went on down the beach, and I thought good, he`s finally gone, and just then a pelican flew into my line and got all tangled up in it. He landed on the water and started struggling, so I had to reel that big flapping wet ...... bird in and wrestle with him to get him untangled. He was pretty ...... off and so was I. (this was the low point of my day).
I got him unwound from my line threw him back. No way was I going to pluck that thing!
After that all the fish just went away. No more bites at all.
crap..... hope your day went better than mine.
