I currently have a standard black Joye 510 and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm not bothered too badly with changing batteries every 2 hours but I was thinking of possibly getting a eGo battery and fast eGo USB charger. Since I already have a bunch of attys and carts I figure the cheapest route is just getting a battery. At Cignot I could get a 1000mah battery for $24 and the charger for $8 only $32 total. The thread is the same as a standard 510 right? and also I am wondering if 1000mah is overkill and maybe 650mah ($20) is plenty?

PS- I was also thinking with the 1000mah battery it would give me flexibility to try out LR attys and still have decent battery life.

You know, I have to ask here... how much are you vaping? I'm curious because I use a 510 kit that I got from madvapes, and I haven't had a battery go dead on me yet, and I use the unit the whole day. Don't take this personally, because I'm not attacking. This has just piqued my curiosity because I keep hearing about battery life on the 510 and I'm just not seeing the problem. Maybe I'm not vaping ENOUGH for it to be an issue? I go through about 3-4 cartridges a day, juice-wise.

A couple drags about every 5-10 min. Occasionally I go like 30 min but pretty much I chain vape. I am also waiting on some higher nic juice which should help with this. It's probably more my love of getting new gadgets than any real need that has me thinking of getting a big battery.

PS - I used to smoke about 30 cigs a day for 19 years

I would get the 1000mah for Four bucks more would be worth it and should last you most of the day with a LR atomizer if not all day. I have the 650mah batteries and it takes both to last me all day, I do vape on the heavy side though. Might want to get a cone for it too alot of people say it works better with the cone. Personally i dont really see a difference, But it is more stylish with a cone on.

Denrock, there is no such thing as too much mah, in the future when batteries last for months then maybe, but for now you may as well get the most mah possible. Think of mah in relation to the size of a gas tank and the atty as the engine. If I were going to get something with a proprietary battery, I would get the Hello016 that has at least a 1300mah or something similar to that. Of course a mod with an 18650 lithium 2600mah battery would be better but that might not be what you had in mind as far as cost goes.

I already bought some Ego kits, 10 to be exact and they are okay, batteries last about half as long as the Hello016 but no where near as good as my Precious-L which can go for 2 days of heavy vaping.

Hope this helps.
Aloha, Keith

I am currently using a JOYE 510 and my batteries last me anywhere from 2-4 hours. I chain vape pretty heavily and when I was using carts, I'd be topping off every 8-9 puffs which actually is about what I do with my drip tip now. I take a hit maybe every 2-3 minutes if not 5 puffs each time, ya i know.. i like my vape A LOT LOL. But ya, 2-4 hours heavy vaping and I'm with the OP, I need a bigger battery LOL

Just about the same with me, and I've been debating between eGo and Riva batteries. I use the passthrough alot in order to avoid all the charging, but I really want to be untethered. :)

Oh my gosh LOL me too! I let my hubby use the 3 bats for the 510 while I sit on the comp with the pass through happily vaping away without worries LOL. But out and about those 3 batteries last us so little a time. Thank god for our pcc LOL or we would be up crap creek so to speak. Think I'm going to do a little shopping tomorrow XD

I want a GLV-2 soooooo bad it's not even funny! But I'm waiting on a special check to get it. -sits and waits impatiently!-

BTW: Where can I get some good but cheap riva parts i.e batteries, cones and would I need a LR atty for it as well? Would it be easier to buy the kit? Cause I know hubby would want one lol

You might want to try the HELLO 016...if you do, suggest you also buy the charger, it is not recommended to use the 510 charger. I like it very well, thinking of buying another one.

I can't speak to the Hello 016 as I've never tried one. But I can vouch for the eGo mega battery. I began my eGo mega journey with the 900 mAh batteries which I thought were great. I then bought a spare eGo mega 1000 mAh battery as a spare. It's about 1/2 an inch longer then the 900 mAh, and probably gives me an extra hour of vaping.

It really is dependent upon how much you vape, but for me, a former PAD smoker, I can go most of an entire day on a standard eGo battery -- it usually conks out in the late evening. I only have the one battery at the moment (the wife and I split a starter kit) but I have a 1000mAh battery on the way which should go much longer. Although I also plan on getting the Mega atty and cartridge which probably draws more current, so maybe not -- but by then I'll have two batteries to rotate so it won't matter.

Yeah, I'm with you. I go through at least 6 510 batt's a day and am tired of being a slave to the charger. If you're trying to get by on the cheap order and ego bat and charger. For the few extra bucks you might as well get the Mega. $32 for an all day vape is pretty good. You can get a kit with 2 bat's for not much more though so you might want to consider it.

Denrock - go with a larger unit like the Riva or EGO. Got my Riva this weekend and power vaped each day. Batteries lasted all day/night and only charged once I went to bed. I too used the 510 for the last 5 weeks and was charging batteries every 2-3 hours. I loved the 510, but if you don't like charging the batts, go bigger. IMO - the larger batteries on the Riva enhanced the flavor of the juice and wow, tons of vapor.

There is no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to battery life. 1000 Mah for an extra few bucks is definiately worth it. I got a 1000 mah ego batt from Heaven's Gifts 2 months ago and it's still going strong. Gives me ~10 hours of heavy vaping. A lighter vaper could make it an entire day on it. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the increased length versus the standard Ego batt, but oh well you can't have everything.

Pfft amateurs - I can blow through a regular 510 batt inside a half hour.

No seriously..I can.
Thats why i got an eGo and now have a Buzz as well lol.

ROFL! Me too, was so frustrated and then a veteran told me to go get a chuck. Haven't looked back since and now own three of them! Best money I've ever spent.
