So let me tell you about this little single coil RM3 Rob built.

So I made the sad mistake of picking up two bottom feeders at the same time from Rob. All the new atty's made me a little more insane then I already was so I picked up the RM3 and the RM4.

I built the RM4 right away and fell in love, it hasn't been off the LP yet. Well I started feeling sorry for the little RM3 so I drilled the air hole to 1/16 I tossed it on my Grand tonight with a 1.6 ohm coil wrapped around a 3/32 bit. I crammed the coil into this bad boy and loaded it up with Bryce's Banana pudding and organic cotton.

holy .... (fill in the blank)

I like a cool vape and a ton of flavor and this BF is amazing. The vapor production is stellar and the flavor intense. Rob, thanks for putting out so many new killer bottom feeders for our REO's. My RM3 is nice and tight, the O-rings snug and no leaking.

Brilliant!

You all are confusing me! RM3 this and RM3 dual that and RM4 woohoo and I don't know what to get next! And none of you are helping! ;)

Seriously though, thanks for sharing your experience Marc! I really am trying to decide which atty I'm going to buy next so I'm sopping up everyone's opinion.

Misery loves company Penny so I'm more than glad to have you here. I just looked on the Reo site and the RM4 does fit on the LP Reo Mini (edited my post). It's a single and dual coil. I got this straight from the horse's mouth....

RM3 - 2 post = single coil 14mm OD (outer diameter)
RM3 - 3 post = single or dual coil 14mm OD
RM4 - 3 post = single or dual coil AFC 19mm OD
RM5 - 3 post = dual coil only AFC 22mm OD

All I need now is opinions on which ones work best for folks. Right now, I'm very happy with the LP RM2. :)

TWF so far I've only run a single 28 ga - 1.4 on the BF. The flavor and vapor production is great and because of the larger deck your wick is larger and will hold more juice. I know less squonking, it is a little sad.

Rob did a great job of placing the juice hole in just the right spot and picked the size. It feeds the wick perfectly taking into account the extra wick deck space. The extra juice is retrieved back into the bottle and the wick is saturated just right, vapes like a champ. I am really very pleased with both additions to the collection.

I have always been a big fan of the Atomic and own a few. Rob did a great job of setting these up for the REO. Not sure of the fit for a mini since I don't own one but I believe it's 19mm so it has a smaller foot print.

Penny, I couldn't decide either, buy both :)

I kind of agree. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, some pictures of the RM3 and RM4 would help illustrate things a lot more clearly. And while we're on the topic, might as well add some RM2 pictures.

Thank you for the specs thewomenfolk, very handy info. I have a regular RM2 for my variable voltage reo I bought in the classies a few weeks ago but am planning on an LP Grand purchase (hopefully soon) and can't decide which atty to get. I don't want to just spin the wheel of atties and watch where it lands, I want to make an informed decision but it's looking like personal preference is a major part of the decision and I don't know what I prefer yet. Aargh! :laugh:

I normally despise shopping but this is a good kind of stressful shopping cause I know there will be good lusciousness at the end probably no matter what I end up choosing! Now I just gotta choose. *turns away wide eyed mumbling to myself about posts, coils and ohms*

RM3 single coil is, apparently same deck as dual coil (3 post) but only one air hole- am I right? I didn't get one, so don't know first hand... but this is good info thewomenfolk!

Also, RM3=A6
RM4=EHPro Atomic clone
RM5=Acerig Zenith clone
All tested & expertly BF modded by Rob himself. Please correst any info that is wrong...

Yeah, pictures of the attys on the Mini please? And you guys....if you could only have one, would you choose the RM3 or RM4? And what difference do you perceive? Bigger vapor/flavor with the bigger ceramic (RM4)?

No ceramic in anything but the RM2... will try to post pics in a minute...

RM3 first, also same size as RM2. RM4 on the bottom.

I don't really use the RM4... never got it to work the way I want, I think because it's bigger than the RM3? BUT, the AFC is nice- you can adjust it however you want. The smallest air hole I think are around 1/16th... and for me, that's too big (I like 1/16th for single but not double) You can make them smaller by turning the ring, but I just never managed to get it just where I wanted. I am way more interested in flavor than vapor production, though.
I think there are a lot of Atomic/RM4 fans around who could chime in & tell you why its great. For me... not so much.

I have both the RM4 and the dual version of the RM3. Both are good. Both will get you the 'crackles'.

The RM4 is an airier draw, even with the AFC set low (as in "smallest holes partially covered") - it's great if you want direct lung draws (which many of the dripping crowd insist on). Some say it's good for mouth to lung draws as well, but I still find it on the airier side for that. Open up the air flow and you have a steam engine, but really you want to be doing direct lung draws for that. Flavour does not seem to increase if you go that route.

The RM3 (dual) is a tighter draw with (IMO) more flavour and plenty of vapor - I liken it to a beefed up RM2. It's smaller deck makes for less space to build with and the center post hole is a tad small when fitting 2 coils of med-large gauge kanthal (I use 28 gauge). I find the air flow to be virtually identical to a stock RM2, which I like, but you can drill out the holes to make them larger (no AFC).

Both will fit LP reos, the RM3 will also fit a regular reo.

This is one of my favorites and I think if you coud get the right build into it you would love it. What's not working for you so we can try to help out.
