gpjoe, don't worry about spending money on an RM2. IMO its the bottom feed industry standard, the one I compare others against. REO + RM2 is a really good combo and money well spent, can't go wrong making that choice. The plating is good, there are no known issues with the RM2, and it has a really good rep for a top vape and easy maintenance.

ETA - If you like dual coils, the RM2 is not such a good choice, a Cyclone afc might be a better choice. The Cyclone without afc is on par with RM2, some like it maybe a little bit better, I got one recently and yeah its pretty good, slightly different flavour to the RM2 but not a lot in it. If I could only ever have one rda it would be an RM2.

I'm much more comfortable with the RM2 after the assurances from you guys. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some "mystery metal" under the plating.

I'll probably be fine with single coil builds, which is what I do now - I'm not into youtube vapor clouds. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

All of the RM2's are made from brass, but are then plated with copper and then with nickel apparently (looks like chrome). The difference between a brass RM2 and a standard RM2 is the nickel plating has been removed from the outside only to reveal the brass. Not many people on the Reo forum talk about the RM2 because its been taken for granted as a good option. We often only talk about other rba's that take our interest from time to time, but the Cyclone has a solid following, non-afc for single coil and afc for dual coil. Others are Divo, Hornet, Era, and Rob (Reosmods) also sells a modified Igo-S too which is compact and gives good flavour and vapour. There's more, check some of the Reo threads.

Thanks for the pictures. It makes my color choice easier. Is that the "silver vein" with the PC board? Pretty sure that is the color I'm going to get.

That's a silver hammertone. Us into the formula 1 refer to them as Lewis hammertone.

Well, I took the plunge. Got the "silver vein" Reo Grand with an aluminum and delrin switch cover (couldn't decide which would look better) a nickle plated RM2 and a few spare juice bottles. Here's a pic I stole from the site (hope that's OK). Can't wait.
