Okay, so I want to make some of my own flavors. I've read through the stickies, watched some vids, and I just want to make 100% sure before I order.

I like 50/50 12 mg flavors. So if I order (from Wizard Labs) 50/50 base 24 mg nic juice and I put 10 mls of that in with 5 mls of PG and 5 mls of VG and then add the appropriate amount of flavoring according to the calculator, I'll have juice to steep. Is that right or am I missing something?

Besides the gloves, bottles, syringes, pipettes, etc., all I need is PG, VG, nic juice, and flavoring?

It sounds like you've researched well! The flavorings will also contribute to lowering the nic level though. The calculator by scubadan will take that into account, but I do mine just like you have (except with 100% PG nic base and 100% VG). It does lower my 24 target nic level, which is okay to me because I need to lower it anyway. :) It just matters how much flavoring you use to what nic level you'll end up with. (I'm pretty new at this myself too.)

I love your avatar by-the-way. Cute!!

Oh, I also have some sweetener I use. I dissolve 100% sucralose powder in some VG and a little water.

You'll want to use a calculator as you are missing a basic concept. mg is mg/ml and your example excludes the ml's of flavoring so your actual nicotine strength will be lower than 12mg.

Also flavoring, unless one of the rarer VG based ones, are considered PG, so if having an exact 50/50 ratio is the most important factor, then your dilution will have to be approached differently.

I always use Scubabatdan's calculator that is in the stickys and like it.

You are right, safety equipment, measuring equipment, and PG/VG, nic, and flavorings are all you really need to mix.

Thanks, guys! Right after I posted this, I punched some numbers in the calculator to see what would come out and I saw that I neglected the percentage of the flavoring in lowering the nic level. Came back to edit and you'd already replied. What an amazing place ECF is!

I did order sweetener, so I'm set with that, and the exact PG/VG level isn't that important to me, but thanks for pointing out that flavors will add to the PG.

I think I'm ready to order. :)
