I've been vaping for about 2/12 months. Started with mini vivi's.... Hated that they leaked like mad, but loved the flavor. Moved to Protanks and davides. Loved the Pyrex, the easy everything, and the no leaks and no gurggles. Hated the airy, cold draw. Air flow controllers helped, but only so much. Was just never happy with the muted flavor. (There are a couple that I love in the pt... Don't know why they seem better in them, they just do. Lol). Got the iclear 30 with my mvp2. Liked it quite a bit... Still do. Wish it came in glass.

I have been reading about the wonders of cartos here for awhile, and I just want sure if I wanted to deal with them. Had a bad vape day yesterday. Everything tasted blah. Even my favorites! So today I went to a local shop and dipped my toe in the water. Bought the locking dct with no extra cartos, in the only color they had in stock. (Gold. Horrid looking. I HATE gold lol)

I took my time priming it, following the instructions I've found here. I filled the tank, locked everything up and screwed it down. Then I waited. What if i didn't do it right. What if I get the burnt hits I hear about? What if it sucks?

Took my first drag... Pretty good. Took my second... Hey this is really good. Took my third... HOLY WOW, this is AWESOME!!!! And it's been getting better ALL DAY!!

Hands down the best vape I've had so far! Period!

Now I need more! I have research and shopping to do! Just nothing gold. The dude does not abide anything gold! Lol

Thank you guys for posting so much amazing info here! I never would have tried a carto tank without it, :)

Plus a good carto-tank is much less hassle and maintanence than a clero. I would suggest getting a good glass carto tank from either Phiniac or IBtanked. IKenvape and Sweet-vapes have some good punched cartos. I recommend 3-hole punched cartos and have put an extra slot in them with my Dremel at times.

+ 1 on all of this.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of hastle free vaping and good taste. You will be giving away those Protanks and Davides soon just like I did.
IBTanks are hard to beat for the money....not as fancy as Phiniac. Both have VERY THICK Pyrex tanks. :toast:

Ha! I was just on the Phiniac website, and headed over to IBtanked next!

So I DO like the locking option... I'm a in and out of the pants pocket guy. Any issues with the non locking??

Not an issue on Phiniac and IBTanked due to very high quality and tight seals. I pick mine up by the tank itself when riding my Harley ( I keep my mod in a cup holder on the handlebars) ......and I have a Provari with two extension rings and an 18650 in it. Thats how much faith I have in those tight seals because I would hate for a 200 plus mod/batt/tank to go skipping down the highway.

That's awesome! Was really my one remaining concern.

I have been using the Phiniac for over a year and never had a problem with a carto coming out or leaking. They use top-notch seals and send along an extra set with your order. You will want to get a filling tool to make re-filling easier. Phiniac sells one and then there is this one that is quite popular:

I was pretty happy with clearos too until i tried a carto. They are still ok but once i got a tank setup correctly it was a big improvement.

I also got a UDCT and the locking ring keeps it from firing with the beauty ring on my MVP v2 so i just leave off the locking ring. I also got a DCT Pyrex and for the money its a fairly good tank. Its still somewhat disposable though since it does not come apart. There are no seals you can easily replace like on a IBtanked.

My Ikenvape cartos arrived today so i tried one. The flange is slightly larger than the SMOKs. Its still grabs the cutout in the DCT Pyrex but not by much. The big improvement so far is no juice on the connection. Im using 70PG/30VG and the two hole SMOKs would leak a little. The Ikenvape polyfill appears more dense and sofar its wicking and vaping great.

I was a bit surprised by the ohm rating i got. They are the Fushion Mega LR rated at 2.0ohm but im getting 1.7ohm from the first one. Thats fine because the SMOK 1.7ohm single coils vaped well on the MVP but the leaking was annoying. I just wanted to try a 2ohm and see if it made a difference.

I have the same drip tip/filler combo that Ibtanked sells. It does make is much easier to fill all the way up and replace cartos. Its also nice and cheap. :D Slap Yo Mama will have to wait until Big Daddy has other stuff i want to order.
