So US companies clone PRC products too?

Thanks for the enlightenment.

No prob. And know that even when I knew that, I was a joyetech fan. Never once bought a Janty product, although I really am curious about their atties. I mean, joyetech atties were quite sometime-y, and I always wondered if those were actually Janty rejects.

don't get me wrong i love keeping jobs in the US but sometimes trying to find the US 100% made product is hard if not impossible.

You know, any number of small cluster industrial parks could have been quickly built out and producing ecig hardware in the US.

There's so much profit .......but it's been almost 10 years and ......crickets.

Really no excuse.

IMHO we've become lazily dependent on PRC and that's the way it is.

So what if a US company did copy a PRC product? Turnabout is fair play as far as I am concerned.

No need to get fisticuffs about it. Nobody said it was a problem. ;)

What is really happening is they are not only copying a PRC product, but the product IS also PRC....just with the "name" of US company on it, in my Halo example.

Really rather humorous, when you think about it.

The problem isn't cloning, we can clone and improve upon just about anything they make. It's the supply chain, mass-manufacturing costs alot of money and in the US it's damn near impossible, SUPER expensive and very hard to come by. Not to mention the choke hold that China has on the metal industry, getting anything in high quantities over here isn't easy. Let's say you can come up with a shipment of 1 metric ton of metal bars (an example), they'll pull 100 tons out of nowhere, copy the design and drive the price to virtually nothing compared to you, can't win against them. That's why people are starting to design stuff here and have it made overseas.

There aren't a lot of PRC products that US companies could manufacture and sell even close to the same price.

If EGO batteries were manufactured here they would cost $200 each.

Strange how our Media and leaders quit calling them Red China....

Yea it's not a true communist country.
They have independent billionaires.

I know people usually think it's the other way around, but after I saw the Halo Tracer, I scratched my head and thought:

isn't this the Joyetech Ego One with Halo printed on it?

Wouldn't this just be a Halo product with Joyetech as the OEM? Not sure how it's a clone.

Wouldn't doubt if Janty and Joye went their separate ways around when the MID battery came out. Pretty innovative device.
They now have a box mod I'm unfamiliar with. Anyone know what this is?

Interesting story about this, but I will call on someone more in-the-loop to explain . . . @RPadTV. Hopefully he sees the bat signal.
