I don't know the setup of the forum, but a site this size needs a MINIMUM of 2 servers to run properly. As a web host, I can get 20% discounts on servers from a reputable company if they are interested. Nothing in it for me, just want to give back what I can.

The problem wasn't server load related, the host screwed around with the configs, shut off php and did a few other things which made the site go down.
