Another story I hope to read more about landlocked! I have to say that was a pretty cool V-day gift!
Give it time, find your flavors, find your strengths, and don't beat yourself up if it doesn't work right off the bat!
Every cig you don't smoke is an improvement, just remember that!

It just gets better, I promise!

I'm new here and only discovered this forum the other day. I've been smoking Marlboro Reds since I was 16, so that makes 5 years. My boyfriend and I have started smoking more lately now that we work from our computers. We are up to 2.5 packs between us, which I guess isn't a lot comparatively. But it is enough to make me cough all morning. It's awful. But I love the habit of smoking, the taste (sometimes) and I just am not ready to quit anytime soon.

So a friend told us he purchased Vapor King from V4L a couple of weeks ago. I checked it out, but knew nothing about PVs or electronic cigarettes, so of course I figured that nothing would just quite work like a ciggie. Not until he mentioned it a couple of days ago did I finally look into it. And wow! After reading all of your posts on here, I have to say that I am excited.

I purchased the Ultimatum Manual Kit, plus empty cartridges and a few 5ml juices that seem up my alley, in 0mg and 18mg. I have an addictive personality, so I figured that the 0mg will definitely come in handy when I'm just working on my computer, bored. My boyfriend and I are gonna share the two batteries until we know for sure that it will work for us (I'm guessing it will!).

Now I can't wait. I heard shipping is fast, so I'm antsy for it! How can I possibly wait til Saturday? But I guess I'll just have to post a new one once I get my bundle of joy. Maybe I'll quit the analogs for good - I love smoking, but hate the cough and the stench of analogs. Here's hoping!

I've been smoking for 25 years. IOver all those years I have continued to smoke because I love smoking even though I hate all the nasty and harmful things that go along with the pleasure of the act of smoking. Well, I have finally found a solution to this problem.
I ordered my kit from V4L on Friday and received it on Monday and I have been loving it. I truly have been SMILIN the whole time. I think I will be vaping from here on out. I have no desire to light up. The best thing is that I can still enjoy the act of smoking without smelling like a dirty ashtray and burning holes in my clothes and the seat of my truck. I am so glad that I found this forum and V4L.
The only thing I am regretting is not waiting another day to make my second order. I'd like to try some of the new stuff, but I put my order in this morning. I've kinda gotta go week by week right now.

Keep us updated! When you get your kit let us know how you guys are liking it. Once you get to 15 post you can create your own topic. :)

I've posted bits of this elsewhere. but I'm still blown away by the experience...so I'm telling my story again. I smoked for 30 years. Had tried to quit once or twice, bit not recently, or seriously. Last October, a coworker told me about PVs, showed me his, and told me to do some research on this forum. I figured why not try it. I ordered a manual kr808d-1/vapor king. I wasn't going to quit smoking, but thought that maybe i could at least decrease exposure to all of the crap in tobacco smoke, might put off the inevitable emphysema a little longer, and if i hated it I had someone who would buy the PV back from me. He's NOT getting it. I didn't quit immediately. Just dropped from a pack and a half, to half a pack. and then to 5 a day, then to 2...then just before my birthday in December i realized that it was 8pm and i hadn't smoked all day. woo hoo! :0 It's been close to 8 weeks now, and I'm startled when i see the unopened pack of emergency ciggs in my glove compartment. "is that mine?" . BP and hemoglobin had been creeping up, and they're back down. I can take deep breaths and smell stuff again (that smelling stuff again is a very mixed blessing BTW). reading this forum helped me immensely when i first decided to try vaping- maybe that's why it's growing so fast - but if you've read this far you already know how great the forum is.

You will really love the change in lifestyle too...no more standing in the heat, rain, snow, and any other type of weather. I had been a smoker for ten+ years and tried everything from the patch to chantix....But the moment my order arrived I ran inside loaded it up and the rest is history!!I have been smoke free for 4 1/2 months without a sweat!!! I even finally threw away a 3/4 pack of marb lts that had sat on my fridge for 2 months just to make sure I wouldn't relapse.. I feel GREAT! the best part I think is sleeping...when I wake up I feel like I actually got rest instead of fighting for air all night..just remember for everyone the experience is different in terms of your first puffs..I only took one at a time because I thought it kind of burned but I kept it up every ten minutes for about an hour then all of a sudden no more burning sensation in my throat..now all I taste is flavor and I am loving it!! and it only gets better from there..

Hey Sawsmoke! Nice to see you hear! I assume the e-cig is working as well for you as it has for me?

I can't thank you enough for your post about the e-cig on RYO forum :thumb: Thanks to you I have completely quit all analogs! My Hubby even hinted he might give the e-cig a try. If he does I will have close to 5 pounds of D&R Windsail Silver up for sale on RYO along with my TOM.

What does RYO stand for? Where is that forum?

Hi folks! So, I started smoking steadily at about age 16. So, that's about 17 years of smoking a pack or two a day!! I'd been down the path of gum/patch/welbutrin/losenge/chantix/cold-turkey/etc with about the same results as the rest of you -- little to none. So, my roommate was telling me about a co-worker that uses a PV while working in their lab and that I should look into it. After much research and reading/watching youtube vids, etc...; I arrived here and decided on the VK from V4L. So glad that I made this decision. Today is day 8 without an "analog" (feel funny calling them that still). When my kit arrived in the mail, I grabbed a cigarette and was going to smoke it while I figured out how the whole VK thing worked. Well, it was so easy to get up and running with it that I never got around to lighting that cigarette (it's still sitting next to my computer where I left it). Still have some cravings, but nothing that a good 36mg won't take care of. I am still not out of the woods yet, but my cravings for the real thing are turning to cravings for things like pineapple and coffee flavored juices more and more. Thanks V4L and to all of you for your awesome stories. ;)

I started smoking in college... Between 1989-1993... social smoker turned 1-2.5 packs a day and still going strong. I should also mention that I don't even light up between 7am and 5pm because I am a high school teacher... so, I get my pack plus in when I am not a work. At work, I chew Nicotine gum... .... I have chewed gum... used snuff and smoked strong for almost 20 years...

Seven years ago, I broke my back... for 2 years I hobbled around in pain... on pain meds... went from 170 to 240 LBS... and my smoking went to an almost 3 day a pack habit.

I got back surgery... and very slowly I have lost the weight and cut down to about a pack a day again.

Smoking really takes it's toll on me now... It hurts... most of the time, it's not even enjoyable... but I am not strong enough to quit... even when I think about quitting, I increase my smoking...
*In the 4 days I have been obsessing over the E-Cigs... and which to buy and as I wait for my V4L order to arrive, I am back up to 2 packs a day...

I have a strong will and I have been able to stop or quit ALMOST anything I have wanted to except SMOKING!!! I have tried to quit smoking so many times... It's so hard... you know... right? Impossible. But... now this e-cig... I am so hopeful...

I love life so much more than smoking...

My wife and I both started smoking in High School and have both smoked for roughly ten years. We have used patches, anti-depressants, and of course, the infamous, cold turkey. Unsuccessful in fighting the urge, we eventually moved right back to smoking.

I have been playing the stock market for the past year and I got turned onto a company called Smoke Free Initiatives (SFIO) which specializes in the developement. Disclosure: I have not and will not ever buy this stock because they have been mis-managed these past couple of years. This led me to investigate a bit further and watched some video specials and I was willing to give it a try.

There are a tremendous amount of advantages using e cigs rather than smoking as I am sure you all know. With the combination of us both quitting smoking, we have a total estimated saving of about $300/month which is a huge difference as I am a single-provider.

I've quit smoking now for four days and so far, no shakes, no moodswings, and no fistfights LOL My only fear is someday I am going to want to decrease my dependance on nicotine and this is now definitely something I don't want to give up.

Great forum guys, I've picked up some good resources already.

lasttango, you story really moved me. I can relate to the not liking it part. For most of my smoking life, I didn't enjoy it - at least, the last several years of smoking. Like others here, I've posted my story but realized I only posted a tiny bit. I'm Canadian and grew up smoking those cigs. When I moved to the US I immediately stopped smoking because I really didn't like American smokes. Many, many years later I picked up the habit again because everyone around me was smoking. And I learned to like the US cigs. ;)

In 2001 I tried again to stop. It was Sept. 9. Two days later I still wasn't smoking and thousands of people lost their lives on 9/11. I made a commitment to them that I wasn't going to be an unnecessary statistic, a stupid death some day, when so many lost their lives needlessly that day.

That promise to so many is what kept me going for six years, through bad and worse times. Then my beloved 12-year-old feline companion died suddenly and I completely lost it and started smoking again. I just gave up on myself in terms of quitting - couldn't do it.

I started with V4L I think at the end of December and honestly can't exactly remember when I had my last cigarette. I don't miss them at all. I do, surprisingly, miss the routine of heading outside to smoke sometimes - it gives me a break from things. But the other day in the store I entertained the thought of buying a pack and couldn't come up with any good reason other than some back-of-the-mind yearning that I couldn't put my finger on or figure out why I even had it. And just like that, it was gone, my Vapor King happily singing to me in my pocket.

It took a bit of trial and tribulation, but I'm truly enjoying it more and more every day and learning what works best for me. I came to all this at the perfect time. And I'm glad to be here.

I am 52 and i started smoking at 8yrs of age, i smoked 25 to 50 cigs a day, depending on how much stress i had on the day. I suffer chronic pain 24/7 after a badcar smash, and on Australia day this year i broke my arm, at he wrist , i had to have a plate put in on the 1st Feb, I got my Joye510 on the 2nd when i got home, normally this would have been a 50 cig day but i only had 3 after setting up my 510 on the passthroug and settling in on the pc, in a recliner chair, yeah my kids (both over 20) set me up well when i got home, I had a full pack of smokes right next to me but when i started vaping i just didnt feel the need to have one. I did not start out with a very positive attitude so I was very impressed at just how well I did vaping, i am still tobacco free. No cravings at all, no crazy mood swings, nothing.
I love my PV but i will no doubt try other styles down the track, I have ordered new flavors, and plan on building up a good supply of all the lil extras, carts, atty's etc.
I love that it has no detectable odor, people have commented a few times on how much nicer my room smells now, no stale tobacco or ashtray stink anymore, my lungs are starting to get rid of 44 years of tar and junk build up, yeah the yukky quitters cough is here, but that's a good thing and i know it will pass soon.

VAPOR KING-ULTIMATE MANUAL KIT is next on my list to get :p i like the idea of having 2 or more different set ups to change between, I can see this new addiction becoming a lifestyle rather than a hobby type thing but i really dont care as i will remain tobacco free and that makes it a winner even if i do spend a bit extra getting a few extra kits set up, over all its a win-win situation and i am so grateful for this forum and the great people living here for all the info and sucess stories, i have found my new home here to match my new life style.
