So what other mods are similar to the Icon and Prodigy?

Well I recently got an Icon and I am very, very happy with it. I am curious as to what other mods are in the same class or do you like as much as your Prodigy/Icon? I have been using cartomizers but after reading here, I think I am also going to try atomizers and direct dripping when I am at my house (and cartos while on the go). I want to buy a few different mid-high end models and it looks like the Provaria is one...what else? I would consider both VV or fixed V. Thanks for your input!

Thanks! I'll check these out! My only issue with the Icon is that the battery progressively dies which means you get the best throat hits at first and then it tapers off. I assume that is because it isn't a regulated current like some of the other mods out there?

You hit it dead center. High quality batteries will lessen that effect a bit, but the regulated will eliminate it. That is the main reason that I like VV or VW. The battery drop off without one bugs me.

Wow...the Xhaler and Legacy look really nice. Is the Legacy the replacement of the Prodigy?

So is the more expensive Precise Plus 18650 worth the money versus the Provari, Legacy/Icon, Xhaler, or other high end mods given it is twice as much? Some people have said the use of rhodium on the Precise Plus allows it to hit harder than other mods, is this true? I am very interested in what models will give the best throat hit...and I am going to start trying atomizers at my house rather than the cartomizers always, and then just use the cartos when on the go. Thanks!

I got rid of my Megaladon due to the nature and weakness of aluminum. I did love my Mako, it was very well built, but the Megaladon didn't hold up so well. The new Legacy however, is a great unit. I won't say its better then the Megaladon yet, but it is made up of SS, and a tad cheaper, so it beats it there. And if you get a mini plus a extension you have a unit that uses 18350 batteries and 18500 batteries. Rumor has it you can also use 2 extension for use of a 18650 battery, or a 18500 with a kick, but I havent got my extensions yet to test this out. But if it does work with 2 extensions I would say it more then likely is better then the Megaladon. Time will tell.

I just got my Puresmoker Legacy mini in the mail today, and I love it better than the Icon. I posted some thoughts and some pics of it here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/292563-legacy-mini-pics-first-thoughts.html

Also, as far as a Super T precise, I just saw in the subforum that they are running a special on a imperfect precise 16340 with brass caps on it. And it's only $109. See here: Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

I'm super tempted to get one myself. Also, consensus opinion on the imperfect/scratch and dents is that they are essentially flawless. Many people say they don't see any imprefections. Let us know what you decide to go with.

Do you guys with the Legacy/Prodigy like it as much or more than the Precise/Precise Plus?

edit: the reason I ask is because I like my Icon a lot, and the Legacy would allow me to do the things my Icon will not and it fixes all of the (few) complaints I have on the Icon.

-The Legacy kit is $125.
-The Precise Plus with the same things is $250.

People seem to rant about the Legacy and obviously people rant about the Precise Plus. However, I have heard nothing but good things about the Legacy and this is why I am torn. Is the Precise Plus (or any of the more expensive ones for that matter) worth the additional money from the Legacy, which seems to be in the same class with the more expensive mods?

So this is what I wound up doing... ProVape was able to answer all of my questions and had the most amazing customer service ever, and so I bought a Provari V2 black. I am going to start trying using a carto tank and a direct drop atty, so see if I like them better than standard cartos. I may also buy a Precise Plus and a Legacy to compare all, see which one(s) I like most, and if I use one more than the others then keep that one and sell the others. Thanks for all the thoughts and advice! :)
