ha ha never!

lol i don't know where people got the idea that the e-cig was a quitting smoking device, but i'm tired of my family saying things like, "congratulations on quitting smoking! good job!.. so, when are you going to quit that e-cig thing?"

i know. some people use the e-cig to quit nicotine and stop smoking and vaping and everything... which is cool for them. but me. i like vaping and i don't plan on quitting.

i loved smoking, i hated the health problems. i love vaping and theres no health problems, so why would i want to quit? i guess they just don't get the whole vaping thing. lol

Wow, I have to say, I see so many threads that get repeated over and over (I'm not complaining, it is bound to happen on a forum this large), but I have NEVER seen someone bring this up (I probably just missed it :)

This is my case exactly. I had to explain to my family SEVERAL times that it is a HOBBY for me....that I ENJOY Nicotine (and don't find it unhealthy), and that I didn't switch to e-cigs as a way to stop smoking/vaping altogether. I switched to ecigs to VAPE, and to quite SMOKING....not to quit nicotine!

My family STILL doesn't understand. They keep saying ecigs are there to quit smoking/everything altogether (WHere they get this from I don't know, I'm the only one they know who vapes!)

Them: "When are you going to quit that e-cig thing?"

Me: "I'll let you know if I decide to..."

Seems to me a whole lot of people think that "quitting smoking" means not doing anything that even looks like smoking. Or maybe they equate vaping with nicotine gum, lozenges, nic inhaler etc., so if you're vaping, you must be doing it as a cessation attempt. And some people just can't stand that you're doing something that looks like smoking (evil! evil!) but isn't, is legal, and you're enjoying it!

I don't care. As long as they stay out of my face. I love vaping. No plans to stop.

Loved smoking for the habit, hate the health issues and the fact I can't take a full breath in without coughing my .... off. Vaping back 3 years ago, I didn't see me ever stopping if given the choice, and now that I'm picking it back up with a more stable ground to stand on, I'll be vaping for as long as I darn well want to lol

I had my boss at work ask me why i was using a vaporiser.
I replied that i used it to help quit smoking.
He then asked why i was still using it if i'd stopped smoking.
I replied that i liked it.
He then asked why don't i quit the vaporiser.
At this point i got a bit pissy and asked him why he went sailing, why does he drink coffee, why does he eat cakes.
He replied that he liked doing those things.
AND I LIKE USING A PV i replied.
The conversation ended then.

Nope, most don't... They either don't have a clue what it is or think it's a 'quit smoking, then quit it too' kind of thing... Me, I don't know to be honest... I enjoyed smoking until I really really didn't (sick and tired of all the health related probs) and wanted to quit - which is when I found vaping... With Vaping, like many, since there are no real known health risks involved (and I don't feel any) I see no reason to quit because I really like vaping... And now have such a big investment in it I can't see quitting if I did want too... :)

The action of smoking is what I liked about smoking. Not so much the rest of the crud that came with it.

Now, with vaping, I still have that action, but none of the crud.

No one has asked me when I'm going to stop vaping yet. Most of anyone that will drinks. I'll ask them when they are going to quit drinking when they do. :D

The Death Hat
A play

Me: You know that hat I have been wearing for the last few decades?
Friend: Yes. The Death Hat. The hat that causes cancer, right?
Me: Right. Well I finally stopped wearing it.
Friend: That's great news! I thought you would never stop wearing that thing.
Me: Now I wear another hat. It looks and feels like the old hat but it's not killing me.
Friend: Oh. So how long do you have to keep wearing the new hat?
Me: As long as I feel like wearing a hat.

The end.

I love vaping and everything related, but I do want to lower my nic intake a lot. right now I'm on 24 mg and will begin to get into diy once vapemail arrives! I understand that nicotine isn't really harmful but from an economic standpoint if I vape 6 mg rather than 24 I'll get a huge stretch of my money's worth (if it was the same price for a 24 to a 6 nic I wouldn't mind staying here indefinitly)
