The ability to ban electronic cigarettes is a train that left the station a long time ago.
Ask for links if you want more information on that subject.

The FDA can not ban it at this point.

But that doesn't mean they don't have other options to hamper and restrict access.
Or make it more expensive.

The best way, currently, to make your rights and voices heard is through CASAA.
So join CASAA right now, and donate if you can.

Joining is free, and you will be apprised of all the potential legal actions that threaten us.
Donating, of course, will help CASAA continue their fight and make all of our voices stronger.

And by the way, CASAA is not just CASAA, they are us and we are them.
If you don't know the history of CASAA, or you don't know why you should join, please ask.

I assure you, you will be compelled to help once you understand the forces we face.
Well, at least if you care, and believe.

They were trying to ban it 3 years ago when I first dabbled in e-cigs. I think the ban days are behind us. There's just too much anecdotal evidence that they're less harmful than cigarettes and they get people off cigarettes and possibly off nicotine a lot better than the NRTs and drugs.

Regulate it to death, yes, but ban no.
Actually the FDA getting their nose in it may save us from the tax thing. Of course the only difference over-regulation would mean was who gets the money.

Sometimes my mind lingers on the whole... government, vaping, FDA... and lately I just always have to think "Where's the FDA approved cigarette?" In my opinion, they need to just .... out.

I'm wondering when they're going to look into coffee mugs as a medical device because they deliver caffeine.

You can find more info from another industry association, the TVECA

My understanding is that electronic cigarettes fall into the legal classification of tobacco products. So for the government to ban ecigs, they'd also have to ban regular cigarettes. That'll never happen, every state is far too dependent on the tax revenues tobacco sales provide. But the government will find a way to tax ecigs and eliquid it's just a matter of when. In my opinion that will be a good thing. Get those hungry governments hooked on our revenues, they'll never be talk of a ban again.

Well said. I have heard countless stories of how switching to the vapside has help alot of people kick analogs...Including myself.
FDA feels like Vapin targets children. >.>

Puh-leeze the FDA says it targets children because of the flavors. I guess they've never seen the vodka aisle at the liquor store. That's okay though, it's only when you put the same flavors in a PV that you are targeting children. They don't want to have to figure out how to control it. So, they demonize it. Pretty typical bureaucratic claim.

As for those of you worrying about them taxing electronic cigarettes, surely that will come at some point.
We have to fight to make sure those taxes fairly represent the "harm" that electronic cigarettes might possibly cause.

After all, that's what those exhorbitant taxes are for supposedly.
And if so, then electronic cigarettes should be taxed at a much lower rate that cigarettes.

However, the things we really need to worry about from FDA regulation would be things like...
--Reducing the nicotine strength to something nearly useless
--Requiring prefilled tamper-proof cartridges
--Taxing them as if one cartridge equals a pack of cigarettes like some vendors claim
