So why is it that when someone posts a question in the new members or general vaping topics concerning any issue and they happen to mention that they are vaping at high wattages > ~75w the responses that they get are often times condescending and/or belittling of their choice to vape at such high wattages followed by recommendations that they don't do it instead of just addressing their question?
I understand about safety first but one of the things that I find fantastic about vaping is that we can find what works for us individually. We aren't pigeon holed into menthol or regular; filtered or non; lights or full flavored.
Why chastise someone for eating a well done steak just because you prefer medium rare?

Depends on the person to me. If this is about the latest one of the guy that is vaping with the TOBH at 95 watts. This is why I don't like it. From his intro first post:

Ive been vaping for almost 6 months and its been really great. The only reason I started vaping was because of those big clouds I saw on youtube.

Im not a smoker at all, never have been.

Seems like more often than not, they are vaping at 260 watts and complaining that their juice tastes bad...or metallic...or too hot....or they're getting dry hits.....or it's too harsh...................
What would you suggest to them? Different cotton? A different battery? Maybe a higher VG juice?

I have to agree.
Just last night at the store, saw a car full of bro's chuckin clouds they saw my hybrid and asked me about and we started talking as they have never heard of a genesis.. And was shocked I could get any decent vapor at 25 watts let alone as thick as mine at.8 ohms (/my clouds are not massive but the vapor is very dense looking)

They all had the same cloud chuckin drippers and tube mech of the Month set up to like .25- .2 ohms. As the conversation progressed one guy stated they were surprised a smoker would think this was cool:facepalm:

Lol

The reason we try to inform high wattage vapers is as much about safety as how to efficiently use their gear.
Some people have the wrong idea and think more power=more vapor, which is incorrect.

If you learn to properly use the gear you will be able to get the desired result without endangering yourself and others, or wasting battery life.

You don't need a sledgehammer to drive a thumbtack.

I understand and agree with all of the above. Safely achieving an optimal vape should be our goal. I was referring to comments such as these:
(I've only copied text and not linked to the posts)
Why do you have to vape at 90-95 watts? Just because the device can doesn't mean you have to.
And these were in response to a 510 connection issue - not burnt flavor.
I would first start by lowering your watts down to like 50
Wh-.. What?

What?

...

What?

Why? Why do you want to vape at 260W? That's insane. That's absolutely insane. Nobody should be giving this guy advice on how he can vape at 260W, as harsh or unfriendly as it may seem, that is just excessive. Absolutely excessive
I just wanna be a P R O F F F F E C I O N A L vapor.

Buncha crap if you ask me

Well, some people you can gently explain facts and they are receptive.
Some people require getting figuratively "hit in the head with a brick".

It's just advice and it's usually for their own safety.

And lastly, asking advice on an internet message board will always have mixed results.
It's kinda expected to get some flak.
Thicken the skin a bit. We are all adults here.

Poor comparison.
More like taking out the Buffet with others waiting for a first plate. (J/K)

You fail to consider the Norm. People react no different to drivers cruising at 100mph regardless of their abilities.

Well, the main point that I was trying to make is that we often ignore the original question (eg connection problems) and focus on out of the norm (high wattage vaping). But whatever - it don't matter

Lol that's been going on since this forum opened, you learn to ignore it and answer the question yourself if you feel you can

I fully support where your coming from
But in reality, beyond trying to be cool

Why do you need 100+ watts to vape? Cause the YouTube video or the dood at the vape shop says so? People been able to create warm thick vapor feeling for years on less then 20 watts

Well duh... because 50 watts won't fire a 0.001 ohm 12 awg octo claptonraptor coil.

I think there is a meta-beef overlaying this "new user cloud chaser" beef. It may not be about cloud chasing. It may be about this (percieved as) new kid buying into some hype; wanting a quick step-by-step guide to becoming a hip stereotype. One that has no True Interest in Vaping / has paid the Iron Price. And one that may or may not be Hurting the Cause by renting themselves out as fog machines at childrens' parties.

To each his own I feel ,whether I understand or not, China, cotton wick producers and the juice makers love it I'm sure.

Soon vape shops will have 500 watt mods and the bros on YouTube will go only 150? Your a noob. about that same time someone will claim to have discovered quad coils for moer clowdz!

At least we don't digress to the Nazi stag like other forums lol

"Im not a smoker at all, never have been."

Why the hate against non-smokers who vape? I've noticed this A LOT around here. Is it because you think it may hurt the cause?

Many don't understand why you would choose to possibly damage your lungs breathing chemicals or nicotine if you were never fighting the addiction. For smokers like me we got nothing to lose.

Why a healthy person would choose to mess with their breathing ( when they don't need to) is very hard to understand and just kinda goes against rational thinking.

"I only drink spring water and won't eat preservatives. But did you taste this artificially flavored frootloop vape using chemicals unproven to be safe for inhalation?"

For me vaping broke a 35 year smoking addiction I feel better but my lungs will never be 100% again.

But yes, more and more " I never smoked but I saw these guys on YouTube chuckin rainclouds and it looks cool so I vape now posts" is exactly what the feds said would happen and it will get used against us I'm sure

( see? we told you vaping would attract people who didn't even smoke!)

-0- dislike for non-smokers that Vape.
I see, and agree there are other acceptable reasons for a person to start vaping.

A family friend, quit smoking over 5 years ago. Started Vaping 0mg last month to help with stress.
People that use Vaping as a means to control diet.

I'm sure there are many other justified reasons - it is a personal choice.
