As I've said before and some still don't get it there are many active advocates here having to deal on a regular basis with perception and sometimes we forget to mention that and the issues we raise are seen as attacks on this or that style of vaping. Another aspect a lot of vapers have to start understanding is the people that will really decide the level of legislation is the majority of the public who don't smoke or vape. Yes big corporate of whatever flavour are using rivers of cash to get the politicians to be more in favour of draconian regulation but no politician who wants to stay one will push regulation they feel the public will oppose and big corporate don't like getting caught doing what they do behind the scenes. All those people are the one's we need to start winning over and getting the truth out to them as right now it's just a constant barrage of negativity towards vaping from the media.

Yes there are some people on this forum and many others that are so judgemental on vaping styles other then their own and they can be very vocal but they are a very tiny percentage of the members here and are vastly outnumbered by the two other main groups. First group just doesn't care because they have found the setup that works best for them and no longer have an interest in further device talk. Second is by far the largest group they are constantly looking for information on the off chance they can get a better setup and are open minded on any style or type of device that could do that. Some of us only ask for those who go where they want vaping how they want that they tone it down and restrain themselves a bit until things are resolved in legislative terms. The attitude of "im proud of my vaping and we shouldn't hide it" may truly think they are doing right but they really aren't they are creating problems they just don't have to deal with it.

Discretion is the better part of valor but there is something to be said for being true to ones self also so as always there are two sides to all arguments. But I agree that the ones who are bashers are a small minority and the people who are the most safety conscious around here just try to educate not condemn. Its a shame the haters seem to always speak the loudest and most often.

Yep! except for the "bully"ing I was right there too. Wish I had listened to the smoking part, but kid's often have too learn the hard way.

The one I wish I'd listened to more closely was "you'll never meet anyone worthwhile in a bar." Boy is that true. :D My current husband, to whom I've been married almost 28 yrs, I met in an AA meeting. :D Same problem as the barflies I guess, but at least we were both headed in the same direction -- AWAY from the barflies! :D

Both discretion and being true to oneself are very important, but the thing is, if the public never *sees* "courteous vaping" they will only know what the idiots are saying, instead of what's really true -- that vapor, for the *most* part, is not offensive -- certainly not compared with cigarette smoke! -- and it's not just the tattooed pierced hipsters doing it, it's also all of us who started smoking way back when smoking was just taken for granted -- we're not freakazoid radicals, we're moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, who found something that could actually tear us away from coffin nails. I mean, HALLELUJAH!

Of course I know that *some* vapor doesn't smell that great, but that seems to be a minority. ALL cigarettes smell bad! My own version of "courteous vaping"? I won't vape while I'm standing in line to checkout at Walmart... but by the time I hit the doors, I'm vaping -- it's a "fog screen" to shield me past all the cigarette smoke just outside the doors! :D No one has ever said anything to me about it, but even if they did, I'd point out.. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF EXITING YOUR STUPID STORE!

But this idea of only vaping where smoking is allowed... humbug. That just reinforces the idea that smoking and vaping are the same thing, and they are decidedly NOT. And someone pointed out the logical silliness of it recently... "I'll refrain from vaping here, because if I do, they'll ban it... so I'll just go ahead and ban myself." That makes not only ZERO sense, but NEGATIVE sense.

Yea just simply be courteous of others its not all that hard Yes there will be some jerk vapors just like there are jerk anything. Including ECF members some might put me in that category:p I just dont get the big fear that some kids with their hot rod mods are going to get vaping banned and taxes levied at us and mountains of regulations piled on us.

These issues were there before cloud chasing was even defined. The tragic infant drinking a bottle of juice in NY and dieing is all the ammunition legislators need to impose all of the regulations they want.
While child proof lids could be an option just like with medications they will ride that kind of thing shamelessly to get what they want witch is IMO money from us they feel entitled to.

I dont see lots of propaganda about people souping up their mods or attys I do see lots of propaganda about BT is using vapor to get our children hooked if you follow that train of thought its not hard to see the out come is BT will gladly accept and welcome regulation on vape related products. So you and I know BT has very little to do with us but they will happily take over the vaping industry and Im sure they are plotting that just now so if they have their way we will be puffing 8 dollar disposables made for max profit and worst performance.

Unfortunately even some of the vendors will welcome regulation because the bigger ones will lose all of the mom and pop competition its really pretty disheartening when you take a good look at how the corporate world operates.
