Although there are some rational, helpful replies to the OP's question, I always wonder when others step in with derogatory posts that assume the original poster is not actually seeking information .. those that do not know the OP, those that do not know the motivation, those that have no information other than some assumption they have made ..

"often wondering" is, of course, fine. However, your tone suggests that you are sitting in a high place looking down on the behaviour of others. Given that your post provides no information to help the OP what do you suppose motivated you to share in this way? And are you claiming that you DO know the OP? This is an internet forum - the person you are speaking to is unlikely to be your next-door-neighbour. As for knowing someone's motivation - good luck with that.

Sorry Uncle Willie, but I read the entire thread, and came to the conclusion that the OP is just trolling for attention. It's not about the question asked, it's how the question was asked.

The answers to the e-liquid question are very simple. The answers to the attitude question are a little more complicated, and for the life of me I can't figure out any reason for asking it other than trolling for attention.

    The question was:
Why are people so defensive on this site?

Thank you .. your post makes my point exactly .. you assume to know a persons tone by a random post .. unfortunately, I have not yet developed clairvoyance so I will not attempt to analyze ..

It is not the tone of a person I am referring to, it is the tone of your post (which is random how, exactly?). Re-read it and try to understand what is said rather than what you think is said. The tone of the post I am replying to is supercilious. That doesn't mean that the poster is necessarily.

I have followed the thread as well .. and as we know, each person has their own unique way of expressing themselves .. that does not mean anything in particular as it's the question the OP seeks guidance on, not the OP's delivery of said question ..

Uncle Willie, your observation is meritorious as it stands. I think we should give benefit of the doubt when reading posts. We cannot hear vocal nuances or see facial expressions. Misinterpretation is easy! Many of the responses here were based on the folks reading OP's previous/other posts on other threads. So, although OP may not be my neighbor and I do not know her/him, I do believe it is possible to make informed decisions about his/her "tone" and even motivation. Just my :2c:

I was referring to YOUR post, Uncle Willie. It should have been clear when I said "It is not the tone of a person I am referring to, it is the tone of your post". And when I said "The tone of the post I am replying to is supercilious. That doesn't mean that the poster is necessarily." I was replying to YOUR post. I hope that that clarifies matters for you.

I am new to vaping and I have a lot of questions about what is in the smoke juices- I am not talking PG or VG and the elusive "flavors"- everyone knows about that. But what about things like artificial sweeteners (which degrade into toxic products when heated) certain toxic artificial dyes or anything that might be allergenic (even food products) etc. I am as concerned about what is in the entities that I inhale as I am to what is in the food I eat or air I breathe or the water I drink or the products that I apply topically. But I notice that on this forum everyone just bristles if you mention anything about labeling and about ingredients. A lot of people have sensitivities to certain food, scents, food coloring etc. So to me it is a legitimate and informed question. We ask for disclosure on all products that we are in contact with and exposed to. So Why are people on this forum so defensive and even hostile when someone asks about what is in smoke juice? My Dad smoked Kent cigarettes for their micro filters and it was later revealed that there was asbestos in the filters. So why is it wrong to want to know if there is anything harmful in the smoke juices? Not to mention the fiber fill in cartomizers? Isn't it wiser to know what you are inhaling than burying your head in the sand? So.. What am I missing?

Well, years of being online (I mean, I'm ancient in computer years, I was on the Internet before it was public) has taught me that sometimes when you think it's "everybody else", it's you.

If you're new to any online community and you immediately start getting a lot of static, you have to consider the possibility you're causing it. Does not mean it's deliberate nor intentional but it does happen. I've seen it countless times.

    Just sayin'...
