Middle of the night for you, maybe not where the coder is at. Not every staff member is in the USA. Oftentimes changing one part of the forum code causes something to happen somewhere else in the forum.

We go through this every forum upgrade. And every time we get the same foot stomping impatience. Eventually we get it all squared away and things return to normal. Wouldn't it be best to avoid the foot stomping impatience in the first place?

Thank you for the Voice of Reason on this Elendil.

I’m sure that this has just been some Code Glitch and that the mods are doing what they can to Fix It.

Thanks zoiD, I appreciate your patience. Just to clarify, the mods definitely do not mess with he forum code. There are only a couple of people qualified to be messing around in there thus the request for patience.

OK, this issue was brought up in the middle of the night.
We get that you don't like it.

You do know it is a Saturday morning, and perhaps giving us some time to look into the issue would be appropriate. Not everything can be fixed with the snap of your fingers. Our coders don'r work 24 hours a day. I don't mean to sound overly harsh, but c'mon..................

Patience is a virtue

Any your point? It was the middle of the night for the person who posted it the first time.

We could probably fix this right away, but we are spending many hours about a complaint we received about the leap year adding one day issue. Could be several weeks to resolve that important issue..........

Well I see El did. :)

Thanks but this foot stomping is turning into a big issue. As I said, a couple members have said bye bye until this is fixed.

Yeah, when I said the "Mods" I more meant that they had alerted the people who deal with the Code/Site Admins that there is an issue.

I done some IT Administration and know just what an "Update" can do. I have also seen my phone with all of the 24 Line Lights Blinking from angry Users saying that there is some problem with the Network. I seen an entire Company rise up with Flaming Pitch Forks because the Exchange Servers were down or because a Color Printer Broke.

I for one think that the Entire ECF Team here does a Great Job. I'm sure everything will get back to normal but like you said, it is going to take some Patience.

which, according to sarge, could have been easily fixed by changing the time it takes to obtain vet status from 365 days to 366 days during leap year.

The dreaded social networking buttons :). I took them off vapeporn for a few days because they just slow down websites for some reason. I got the opposite reaction and people wanted them back so I put them back. Go figure.
Long time no see Elendil, hope things are well :).

I came to this thread to register my displeasure. Lots of people are leaving ECF because their computers are working so slowly, and that disturbs me. I can't imagine people wanting these things on every post, and I haven't seen a single post defending them. I think they should go, just to make the noisy majority happy. I'm willing to wait patiently, but I'm sad to see friends leaving, maybe to not return.

I’m pretty sure what will happen is that there will be the ability to “Opt Out” of the Social Network Buttons on every page.

That way the Angry People who see them can get rid of them. And the People who want them won’t get Angry.

It’s just going to take some time to sort out. So I suggest we all stay away from Highly Caffeinated Drinks and let things settle down.

What makes me sad is that the members that have been around a little bit know this happens with upgrades...and that it gets resolved/removed as soon as it can be done...and yet...here we are 153 posts later...

I'd wager to get Administrators attention with something like this, it takes 153 posts :)

I wasn't trying to defend them being on ECF. I was pointing out that I got the opposite response on one of my websites. Vapeporn is not a forum and people like to share the posts on various social networks so I understand why they want them (even though it slows the site down considerably :()
As for them being on every post of ECF I think is a huge mistake. They are slowing the forum down to almost a standstill and need to be removed. Hopefully, they are working on it to remove them. As for your friends, I'm sure they are upset but once the buttons are removed they will get over it and come back :)
