In defense of the whinersmyself included therewhen I woke to find the abomination of tacky FB & Twitter links emblazoned into every post, it didn't have the look of a glitch.
I think glitch when something isn't workinglike non-functional My Posts, for instance. When something is workinglike FB & twitter links to popular culture at its worstI default to the notion of deliberate intent. And, in this case, to an ECF blunder of New Formula Coke magnitude.
So it went, and so I did. My bad.
For my wee-hour post of 25 or so pages ago in which my natural cynicism raised the idea of a money motive, I do apologize.

I can understand both sides to this disaster. we need to reach a happy medium & stop jumping all over each comment that is made, this includes mods & members...lets get beyond the complaint part of things & start on a remedy, No?

I would agree with this post.
As for the comments about glitches and things getting fixed or resolved, in hindsight I will now agree.
But that is only because I just today found out I can shut off those damn social media buttons at the top of the forum.
I remember when those came out and I was not happy, because it caused about a 4 to 8 second delay in loading pages.
I learned to live with it because I was not aware I had any other choice.
So when "The Great Social Media Button Debacle of 2012" happened to me this morning, I thought I would have to live with that as well.
The fact that it was remedied so quickly is most likely due to all the whining that was being done.
If I had known there was eventually a simple fix for the previous social media button issue I would have held my tongue.
But since I was not aware of that, I shifted directly into whine mode.

Apology accepted. Keep in mind when you upgrade a forum, oftentimes there are items included in the upgrade that you may not want and then have to go through the process of tweaking to remove them. When some feature is changed or removed or a particular feature is added it can cause other features to be activated/deactivated. you don't always know until you start tweaking. This type of thing has to be done on the fly versus taking the site down until everything is "perfect". Think of it as trying to do a tune up on your car with the motor running. Not always the easiest task...........

Really. Everyone just needs to chill. Nobody died, nobody got hurt. It's just a forum that had a little problem, and the moderators had to jump in and do their job. That's how things work. Sheeesh.

We still have the problem of slow & lagging pages, downloads & dump offs.
For me, the forum is actually running better than it has in the last few weeks. Go figure.
Try Logging-Off the ECF, Deleting your Temporary Files in your Browser and then Re-Start your Computer.
