I can't remember ever hearing anyone complain about this. But, it really, really bothers me.

When I fill up a carto or clearo, I tend to get juice down the center hole. I try not to; but, I usually do. So, of course, I blow it out to get the juice out of the hole.

Problem is, that gets juice on my lips. Not much, but enough.

A couple of weeks ago, I was using mostly Stardusts and carto tanks and was getting a lot more on my lips and in my mouth than usual. One night I got a whole bunch in my mouth. I rinsed and rinsed, and gargled and gargled. The next morning I woke up with lips swollen so big that I couldn't speak clearly and with the sides of my neck and under my jaw swollen. I had to call in sick. I took Benadryl. But, it still took a couple of days before the swelling and rawness was gone enough to not need the Benadryl.

Now, I know that the extreme was caused by my own carelessness and impatience. But, there's just got to be a better way. I won't even use carto-tanks right now.

Am I just more sloppy and careless than everyone else? I know I was getting a bit impatient and careless that one time because I was getting so fed up with the problem in the first place.

I saw a video about using an oral syringe to clean cartos, which I plan to try as soon as I can get to CVS to buy one. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the oral syringe to blow out cartos. If you put the carto in from the other end (the battery end), that should work I think.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I treat my clearos like a carto, if the center post fills by mistake I just unscrew it from battery and blow down mouthpiece into a paper towel at the battery end. With my carto/tank I haven't flooded it to the point of needing to clear it out, but how I dealt with it (after learning that blowing through it just pushes ALL the juice out of tank...derp) was to tip it 45deg down and give a couple very quick pulls to get the juice up and back on the filler. Don't tip it too much or you'll get a mouthful.

Another thing I learned, don't fill them all the way up. 75% full still vapes as good as 99%.

What about a cut off straw?Sometimes I put a paper towel over it to keep the juice of my mouth then blow through it.Other times I just tap it on a paper towel.Stupid but it works. Then clean out the connection end with a q-tip If you put a toothpick or a broken off Q tip in the opening (whatever fits) you won't get so much liquid down the opening.

Several things occur to me.

1. For filling a carto-tank, either get one with a side screw or use a "slap yo' mama" tank tool. With either of those you should get ZERO in your center tube.

2. I've gotten at least 1/3 of a mouthful vaping a clearo and pulling too hard, rinsed a little, and no ill effects other than a nicotine-burny flavor for an hour afterwards. Not even the panic attack like I've gotten once from chain-vaping my 24. So unless you were vaping something 'way over 24 I'd wonder if you have an allergy to something in that particular flavor. Do you have other flavors? Do you have any food allergies?

3. I never blow through a carto without a mouthpiece or drip tip. What if you keep a few inexpensive clean ones around for this purpose? I don't use special clean ones for that, but like I said, a teeny teeny tiny taste of condensed vapor on my lips once in awhile (24 or less over-the-counter juice, NOT DIY components!) doesn't bother me.

I've never used a clearo, but when I fill a carto I hold it at an angle and drip down the sides (steeljan actually made a video about all these little aspects of filling cartos that was good) and I rarely get juice down the center hole-only when I accidentally overfill.

I always know when that has happened because after I fill one I let it sit with the mouth side up for a few minutes and it leaks out the hole onto the table. Once I know that has happened, I just blow gently through the mouth side into a paper towel and then wipe the excess off the connection side.
