Some advice from KR8 users that moved to EGO/RIVA type

I absolutely love the KR8. I have been smoke free for about a month with little to no cravings (pretty surprised myself). So obviously this PV setup has been working for me. Recently I noticed the very good deals on the Ego type PVs and was wondering if any other KR8 users have familiarity with both types. I plan on keeping a supply of KR8 stuff because my wife likes it and I like it for those times when I want to be a little less noticeable. I plan on getting an adapter to be able to use the KR8 cartos I will have. So what is the experience others have had with this type of combination coming from KR8 exclusively? I know I could get a Defender model that is threaded for the 808 cartos but the price difference is fairly significant and as many other posts have stated there is little if any voltage difference anyway. I am starting to think I may be better off just making sure I have enough back-up batteries and cartos/juice for the 808 rather than going down the road of a different model. I really appreciate any and all input before I pull the trigger and spend more money.

I've done the Rivas, both 510 and 901. The 510 connections with an adapter aren't bad, pretty close to the KR8 draw. The 901s though, not so much. To me they have too light a draw and the vapor isn't as good. Another nice thing about the 510 adapter is that it has an adjustment on the carto connection side. It turns like a screw so that you can tighten or loosen the draw.

One model that I've been hearing good things about is the PigCig sold by LeCig. (Smokeless Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cig) It's supposed to vape like a true 3.7v that the standard KR8s do, and has an 808 connection. It currently only comes with one batt, a cone and a charger, but at $30 you could buy two and have a complete set similar to the other cone types sans attys and with an extra charger (always good to have) for about the same price off discount. If I hadn't just ordered a mega Riva 510 kit I'd be trying this one out.

You can see Sense Field's review thread on the PigCig here; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/video-reviews/141279-pigcig-review-kr808d-1-threaded-ego-style.html#post2248150

I started with an E9/Green Smoke type, then switched almost exclusively to a KR808D-1.

The CigPig was mentioned above, and I also have one. LeCig will provide an adaptor so you can use the CigPig - KR808D-1 with another format of cartomizer or atty/cartridge combination.

I would say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You are happy with your KR808D-1, stick with it.

If you want to get a longer life battery, they are available, and mods like the CigPig are an option as well. I've seen a personal charging case (PCC) for the KR808D-1, which will allow for all-day vaping with a few battery swap/recharge cycles.

Another thing; I just found replacement/backup 808D-1 batteries at Vapor Kings (note the letter 's' in the name). Eleven bucks. You could buy a couple extra batteries for the price of a 510.

I haven't tried refitting either my manual KR8 or CigPig with an atty for dripping, so I don't even know if that's possible (I haven't yet myself tried dripping), but if you're happy with what you have, why spend the extra money?

The eGo / Riva isn't really that great for cartomizers when you've been using decent 808 batteries, they don't put out a proper 3.7v hit under load it's in the low 3v's. Your best step-up would be to get something like a GGTB mod, it is ready for 808 cartomizers and is only 73 bux, and not forgetting it's never gonna be disposable after x amount of charges or when the electronics fail like a eGo / Riva.

Yearh I have to say the same.. Have the ego and riva and small 510's... They don't give the same TH.. closest is the riva.. But that may just be cause its newer or somethin, dunno....haven't tested to see if its higher voltage than ego..

Can tell you that i'm not getting any more of them, but its nice to have a device with more mAh as backup if pcc shold die or whatever.. So my big batt of choice, will be the pigcig next.. Cus even though adapters work finr, they are small.. very small. In the car, changing from something emty to something full, I've lost a couple. Very annoing. But then again, I've tried attys and dripping and all that, wasn't for me..
