Hi,

This is an image used from Cloud9 vaping (hope you done mind lisa :) )

Could someone tell me how do you get this configuration with the cap screwing all the way down to the base piece .

I am trying it with a single RCR123A battery and have tried it with the brass middle screwing in both ways, I still always have a gap :confused:

Just had a thought, i am using a single RCR123A which has a PCB, would this extra length be the reason ??

Yes probably unfortunatly batteries tend to be different sizes from make to make and even the same make differ, sure you will find a way around your problem, this is the beauty of the GG system :thumb:

If useing 510 try 901 will give you more room atty conection not so far down

Maybe they took that picture with no battery in it? If so, I have to say that's pretty misleading... I hope that's not the case though, because that picture was a big reason why I ordered this.. not only for the multiple configurations but because it can be so compact with a single RCR123A battery and look like that.

Hi natureboy, without a battery i can screw the cap down flush as per the picture.

I have tried and tried with a RCR123A and I am 99.9% sure it will not fit. It looks like the post that holds the spring would need to be shorter.

You can get it pretty close but you will see some of the brass inner inbetween the cap and the base tube.

I may be corrected but I have looked at this a few times with mine and it physically wont work.

Not happy about that. I don't even have mine yet, but already I've learned the 18650 battery I have won't fit, and now the RCR123As I got won't work either without a gap.

It will also depend on the type of atomizer used. The center pole in the atomizer connection moves, for a 510 atty the pole will move down much further, causing the battery end of the pole connection to move down inside the case. For a 901 with adapter, the pole moves up (since it needs to clear the adapter) and allows for much more clearance inside the case.

I just measured my GGTS with a single RCR123a battery in a 510 configuration and it measures, 7.2cm in length (not including the atty and cart/tip), with a 1.2cm gap between the top and bottom.

In a 901 configuration with the same battery its 6.6cm in length with a 6mm gap.

Still pretty small even if there is a gap between the top and bottom pieces.

Hope this helps.

I am saying with "my" configuration that is the gap I have. You can probably get less (or potentially none, I am not sure) by using a different battery. Maybe look into CR2s instead of RCR123a's.
CR2? Yeah, tiny little buggers.. I imagine those would work. Hard to find protected CR2s though.

Surely 2x CR2 batteries is taller than a single RCR123A?

EDIT: yeah I don't see how that's possible considering there's a gap with a single RCR123A battery which is 36mm in length vs 2x CR2 batteries which would be over 44mm in length.

Unless the two people who've posted in this thread that have said there's a gap are doing something wrong, in which case the OP is still looking for an answer, and I'm certainly curious what the solution is as well.

Nature, I gotta tell you: while I understand what you're feeling and thinking now I have to tell you I truly believe once your GG arrives and you get an 18650 battery that does fit you will not care.

I bought a high drain 18650 from Drew at Nhaler and the hit is INSANE using a simple 808 Carto! I have had 3.7 mods and this does NOT feel like a 3.7 mod

I have the GG on one of the 18650 high drain batts and it's still going 21 hours later. :thumb:

Oh, the AGONY!

Seriously, you ARE GOING TO LOVE IT.

I started out with a 5v mod (Prodigy) and LOVED it and for some reason AFTER buying the 5v I bought two 3.7 mods (Protege and Chameleon) and they are fine mods but they just sat around and I told myself if I bought another mod that I was going to run at 3.7 (6v is too high for me) it was going to be one that fit an 18650. I was only really looking for battery life but the GG with the 18650 is SO MUCH more than that.

I don't want to torture you because I know you're dying but I'm telling you you are GOING TO LOVE it and you know if you don't someone here will buy it from you within minutes ;)

haha, that's the great thing about it... i knew before even ordering it that if for some crazy reason i wasn't happy i could sell it within minutes.

but i have a feeling i'll love it. i haven't been satisfied with anything i've bought yet. i figured considering my past tastes in all things high end and expensive, i may as well do the same with PVs and just go for the best.

i'm very particular with my toys. they've gotta look the part, ya know? and this one certainly looks the part. nice and shiny and expensive looking, just the way i like it... lol. :)
