this thread is ridiculous. some guy gets mad because his coworker is still in the same spot that he was in months ago, or weeks ago or whatever it is. i don't understand how bashing smokers gets us anywhere as a community....

If OP had a frustrated tone (which I only slightly indicated), I think it was just the frustration with the person not listening to the how and why he got his $50 model.

Thread intended to blow off some steam and get some understanding from others that might have been in there shoes. Share a story of how you have handled a similar situation. Or show support in a "Ive been there too" type of comment. Attacking people is not right, it will just lead to more "hot words".

one of the temps at work saw my epower and asked me how much i payed for it. i told him that i paid $40 for the starter kit 4 months ago. he told me that i could buy one at a gas station for 15 bucks. i tried telling him that there is a huge difference between a fairly good unit like an e-power and some 15 dollar piece of crap. people just arent very educated when it comes to these things. most people i run across are quite content at just clutching to the cigarettes at they slowly kill themselves. i run into that allot. vaping requires a little more knowledge and thought that just pickup up a pack of rolled garbage reconstituted "tobacco" lighting it on fire and burning that junk into your lungs.

i did good by my one freind. he saw me with my epower and started asking questions. i bought him a starter kit and he has cut himself down significantly on the amount of cigarettes he is smoking. his girlfriend also likes the epower. this friend of mine is a carpenter and has been hard at work on my house, replacing windows, insulation, and drywalling. i have been paying him for his work but i threw an epower in for him to see if it will work for him. if i can get another smoker off of the toxins, its a win win. i could save his health and maybe his life.

Well the only way these people are going to know the difference is by folks like you & I , who try to educate them as to the differences between these certain models...it can get agrivating, but the more they learn the better their choices will be

the point is it doesn't matter if you explain to a smoker that something is a quality unit. as a smoker most of us were hesitant to try anything ecig related, so y not start with the 10 throw away one. that doesn't make them an idiot. as i said, you can lead a horse to water.....

We smoked also as someone alluded too in an earlier post. We started out of ignorance.

And it is under this flag of ignorance that I do still allow people to smoke in my truck,and don't belittle them for still smoking even though they know about ecigs.

We who vape were in their shoes and as such should not take a holier than thou approach when speaking or explaining ecigs to someone who currently smokes.

I believe that the point OP was trying to make is that some people don't want to even listen to the reason why the $50 unit is better then a $15 unit. And thats just it. They don't care. They don't want to be educated. And this probably does not stop with just e-cigs here. I find that people who are closed minded about learning about one subject tend to be closed off from learning about a many number of things. Therefore really making this person and idiot. I have been bugged about close minded people who don't want to learn and further themselves. I think we all have. And if you don't have an outlet of which you can get it off your mind you could go postal.

No problem. I would not criticize anyone if I weren't prepared to take it myself.

I believe my duty here is to help other ecig users not give up on vaping. I would ask forum members to do the same for me. My method is to help fellow ecig users to stay honest with themselves. That sometimes requires a little tough love.

Bottom line though is that I got my OPs and threads mixed up and my comments were indeed way off topic for this thread.

right, and look i'm not trying to keep this little drama fest going any longer, but there it is right in your post. your'e still calling smokers that don't want to be educated about ecigs idiots. sorry, but that's just not right. i used to be a smoker, there was quite awhile that i didn't care to know anything about them. that didn't make me an idiot. it just means that at that point in time i wasn't ready. and that's ok. just because someone's not ready to try something that "might" work doesn't make them stupid or an idiot or whatever.

because lets remember here, vaping doesn't work for everyone. as much as we'd all like to believe it vaping is not the end all be all for quitting smoking. as a matter of fact if everyone could quit cold turkey THAT'S what would be best. so just because someone doesn't care to know y the gas station ecig is ten dollars and the internet ecig is 50 dollars does not make them an idiot.

all that i'm saying is bashing anyone that smokes just because they don't want to be educated on ecigs does not make them an idiot.
