some questions about my new 901

I've had my new 901 for almost 2 weeks now and I'm proud to say I've only smoke 5 real cigs since...all by choice, and all met with the same response...fairly satisfying but not much more than the ecig and they smell and taste nasty...

Anyway my supplier was really good about getting back to me and answering my questions till I actually placed my order and now I can't get my simple questions answered so here goes.

I'm wondering how long my carts should be lasting me...I have been going through 1 every 1-1.5 days or so. Basically I've been getting rid of them when the filler stops springing back up as much and it gets crappier vapor. Is this usually the case when you retire a cart or should I be waiting until it doesn't fit as well or something? If it is the case of it just being the filler that wears out can I just put something under it to prop it up better or try the PTB mod or somethin?

Also I was wondering if I'm doing this all right. My buddy got a 510 and says he uses like 12-15 drops in a cart...I put in maybe 5-8 to fill it initially and then put in 2-3 drops at a time as necessary. Does the 510 really just burn through juice that much faster or should I be using more too.

Also I was wondering some basic questions about the atomizer and battery...
How long will a battery last and whats the deal with the self cleaning thing I've heard about?
How long should my atomizer last and should I be doing anything to it to maintain it and/or clean it out between different flavors?

I know I'm rambling on so thanks if you actually are reading all this and responding :)

I too am using the 901, I have recently tried two of the Blue Foam mods and they work great!!! I think I am leaning more toward the Blue Dart Mod, but just plain BF stuffing seems to work really well too. In addition if the foam get to gunky just pull it out give it a warm rinse and dry with Paper towels and you are good to go

I think you're making pretty good time with the carts. They'd last me 1/2 a day tops. Sounds like what you need is some tweezers. Pull the poly back up, and top it off.
As for the drops some bottles have a larger opening so you get more per drop. In mine I have one bottle that'll get me 13 to 15 and another where you get maybe 10.
As for the blue foam mod, it does work great, it's just a little different with the 901. I modded mine once, but mostly I've switched off to my 510. With yours I'd try it with a zip tie (as skinny as you can find) bent over. I know on my 510 the optimal length seems to be just over 1 1/4". You'll have to try with yours, that'll give you a nice base to put the foam on. It should be around 1/8" from the top and just a little bigger then the opening in the cart. Basically you just pull the foam off and fill, then stick it back in. They do tend to feed better unless you're using a thick VG juice like I am. I need to start cutting mine so it will feed properly.

anyone have any word on how long the atomizers should be lasting or maintenance on them? I've had mine for about 2.5 weeks now and its starting to taste pretty bad and not produce much vapor...is this all I look for to retire my atomizers or do I just need to clean it? Is 2.5 weeks low for an atomizer? Whats the best way to clean it?

I've been using a 901 since September so I'll chime in here a little:

The factory carts don't have the best wicking material in the world, but if you want to get the best out of it just pull it out with tweezers when it starts acting up and rinse it off, dop it dry with a paper towel and stuff it back in. If you want to try the Lipton Pyramid Tea Bag material (which I recommend), try this thread to get you started.

Atomizers should be blown out (from the battery end) fairly often. I usually blow mine out at least once a day and sometimes more depending on how much I use them. There's an excellent thread here about bringing back dead 901 attys. I've used this method myself with great results (just be careful).

I use the factory auto batteries in mine most of the time, and I've found that they last me about 2-3 months before the auto-switch starts sticking, or they just stop holding a decent charge. I keep my old batteries in case I decide to take them apart later, but most people just throw them away.

Hope that helps. :)
