Hello, I'm Chris and I'm very interested in the electronic cigarette. I recently made a 170 dollar mistake on a mismo e-cig. My friend had convinced me that one cartridge was equal to 300 cigarettes, when it is only equal to about half a pack. Not to mention the most important issue, that mismo e-cigarettes have no nicotine! Although I notice it takes away most of my craving while I'm actually "vaping", my cravings immedietely return afterwards.
Anyway, I have a few questions: Is there some way I can jury rig my mismo cartridges to hold the nicotine refills? If not, what are your recommendations for a starter e-cigarette? I'm looking for one that has a blue LED and after very little research vapor king seems like a good fit for me. If anyone has experience with Vapor Kings, please leave some feedback.

Thanks and hope to be vaping the real thing soon!

I have a Vapor king. My hubby loved the 2 peice design the batteries come in 3 sizes the longer the bat the longer the charge. The cartridge is also the atomizer. No messing around just screw on a new carto and you're ready to go. It is kind of a mess to refill but not too bad just have on hand 10 or 12 cartomizers and do all the refills at one time. I always refill on Sunday night. Prefilled cartos can get kind of pricey after a while, refilling is cheaper bt you still will need to buy 5-10 cartos each month. They don't last forever but you can refill each one about 5 times or so. Some people refill them more than that, I do not they get kind of nasty. Hubby uses his every day the PCC is priceless gotta have one. Overall it is a good choice, simple to use, simple to charge batts when on the go, refilling is easy just a little messy sometimes.

If by Vapor Kings you mean the vapor4life VaporKing line, they're a KR808D-1 2-piece unit. I've been really happy with their products and service.

(NHaler and others also sell KR808D-1 units. Check the forum Suppliers area. NHaler, V4L and others also often have discounts -- NHaler's 10% is saveinnj, V4L's is smilin -- v4l frequently has higher discount coupons, too.)

OK, I just found a website with a digram of the mismo. It looks similar (but not identical) to an M401 model ecig. It seems to have an "open wick" atomizer with a plastic cartridge that houses a plastic inner juice cup (yes, no, maybe?). If so, you can take a paper clip and push it through the hole that the vapor comes out of and pop out the inner juice cup. You can put a little nic juice in that, maybe with a hypodermic needle or something. They're kinda small and don't hold much.
You may be much happier with a "Vaporking" type ecig though, or a 510. The Vaporking is a kr808 D-1 model and can be found at other suppliers a bit cheaper than at V4L. One such site that comes to mind is KR 808D PCC Kit (buy an extra battery if you get this kit). Another is KR808D-1 2 piece e-Cigarette (site says "not a vaporking" but it's the same model.
I use kr808 (VK) cartos most of the time on my mods and I blove 'em. They hold about 25 drops of juice and last quite a while. I think they give a richer flavor than the 510 cartomizers. Some would argue with this but then, they would be wrong then, wouldn't they.

As a new user myself I have some thoughts here:

I started with the 510 and it has been solid for me. My second purchase was the Ultimatum kit from Vapor 4 Life and while I like the components themselves, the cartomizers you get from there leave something to be desired. The prefilled ones all taste the same to me; perfume. Ick. The good news is you can buy blank ones and fill them with whatever you want. The bad news is if you are like me then finding the perfect flavor can be like the search for the Holy Grail.

With the 510 it is easier to try new flavors, since you can get sample size bottles (3ml) and put a few drops in to taste. If its not good then you are only out a couple bucks. I guess you can do that with cartomizers but it's more of a hassle, and I don't know of anyway to "clean" a cartomizer with a flavor that you do not like, you are sort of stuck with it.

Right now I am favoring the 510 which is ironic since I spent a lot more on the Vapor King :)

I think either one is a good place to start, just remember that the pre-filled cartridges (or cartomizers if you get the Vapor King 808) always have awful tasting liquid in them so make a few sample bottles of appealing e-juice part of your order.

Yes, it is pretty much exactly as you described it. Basically the only thing that is in the juice cup is flavoring, vitamin C and coenzymes. It's a "healthy cigarette" that I'm just not ready to switch to. :] I will try your idea out, once I get some nicotine juice. Anyone know of any stores where this might be sold besides online?

Thanks Again! Great feedback, I read that newbie forum, and I think I'm gonna go with the kr8. Next up, how does the carto refilling process work? Is that what the "ejuice" is for?

Yes, that is what the juice is for.

There are a lot of videos that cover how to refill cartomizers, check this one out:

YouTube - A double demo! The Cartomizer Condom Filling Method, and the Taryn Spin.

The library here has a lot of good info, it got me off to a great start:

Yes, juice is to fill blanks (or refill.).

I use the condom method (named by others). Cartos come with rubber caps for top and bottom. Put juice into one of the caps that doesn't have a spire sticking up in the middle, about 3/4 of the way full. Slowly push the carto, battery contact side down, into the cap.

(If you have a totally blank carto, it can hold more juice. After the first fill, pull the carto out, add a little more to the cap, then push the carto back in again.)

For use, I pop the caps off, blow through the carto into a tissue to get out any excess, then wipe it on the outside (and battery contacts) with the tissue.

I've taken to using non flavored lip balm, just in case I'm lazy, haven't wiped the carto before sticking it in my mouth.

You might see a few bubbles of juice coming out the top of the carto, no big deal.

(Others use syringes in the top, or pop the rubber mouth end off and fill from the top, etc. They all work, I just don't feel like spending more time on the fill process than needed, and don't sweat not getting the absolute maximum possible amount of juice into a carto.)

I don't know of any "brick & mortar" stores that carry e-juice here in Michigan, let alone in Japan. Sorry. Lots of good online venders though. Ones that come to mind are Tasty Vapor, Vaporbomb, MrsT's Bakery and Myfreedomsmokes.

Chris, Thank you for your service. I use a V4L VaporKing and I love it. I gave up my 1PAD addiction of 27 years from the first vape! Haven't had an analog in awhile (I'm not even sure how many days...I think it's 6). I don't miss them at ALL! I love the WOW Vanilla and Cognac from V4L. They are my favorite daily juices. The vanilla tastes more like a "vanilla" shake from McDonalds than vanilla bean...but it is yummy to me! Juices are all very personal, but I can tell you that the VaporKing is excellent in function and durability. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Dee

Chris, welcome!

Thanks for your service. I'm an Army vet myself and my nephew was stationed in Okinawa and just left there.

Some people like Kr808s with cartomizers, some people like 510s. I think if you decide on an upgrade in the future, go with a mod with a 510 connection. A couple of different voltages are available in mods to give you that extra power you can't get in smaller batteries. Plus, there are 510 cartomizers, too, that work really well on higher voltages. Filling them with juice that you like is usually a better option than prefilled cartomizers, in my opinion.

Any questions you have, please feel free to ask me!

Thanks for all of the info guys. Thanks for the support too, we don't here to much of it in foreign countries, so it's really great to hear. By the way, my brand new VaporKing is on the way! I decided to start out simple and work my way into the complexity, which is the way it should be I guess. But I'm a tinkerer at heart, so before long I'll definetely be dabbling in mods and different e-cigs.
