So, I ordered my Kgo and a variety of cartomizers, a clearomizer, and a dripomizer, just to test out. I'm wondering if I need to do anything to the cartos etc. before I fill them with eliquid and vape?

I also neglected to get an atty, however, I ordered 25+ flavors from different venders, I was wanting to drip these to try them rather than use fresh cartos to test flavors. So I read the thread on modding a 808 cartos, and love the idea since I have a bazillion 808 cartos. However, I have a couple questions...

1: all my 808 cartos were prefilled, is there an easy way to clean them AFTER I take the filler out? I don't want lingering taste...

2: can I use a modded 808 cartos to drip with my Kgo and an adapter?

Huge apologies if these questions were addressed, I looked and tried to find the answers before posting! Also, sorry if they are silly questions

I appreciate all your help!

Hey, no silly questions here. I don't know about modifying an 808 carto.. my KGO came with two atty's so I use those to test new flavors. It might be worth your while to get a couple, they're pretty inexpensive. You don't need to do anything to the cartos.. just take off the condoms and drip your juice in.. there's tons of videos out there to show you exactly how to do it. I put a few drops in, shake it down (like a thermometer) and keep putting drops in until it looks slushy on the top. The best cartos I've found for my KGO are the EMDCCs... they hold over 2mls of juice and last a good long time. I also like the 1.7ohm low rez cartos (resurrectors) from Crystal Clear Vaping. And you can get a little 808-510 adapter for all those 808 cartos you have so you can use them on your KGO. I hope you love your KGO!!

Thanks for your reply! I'm so excited to get my kgo, it should be here Monday! I only used blank cartos once and they were hit and miss, I wondered if I needed to prime them or something. I'm gonna order a couple attys and drip tips, I just know I won't have the patience to wait once I get the rest of the awesome stuff lol :)

Cartos vary by manufacturer and unfortunately, sometimes from carto to carto. One thing that I would recommend for getting the most out of blanks is to fill them slowly to make sure you have them well saturated and then let them sit for awhile. Some cartos are worse than other for immediately wicking the juice to the coil, and firing it up while it's dry can ruin it.

What cyberwolf said... fill them slowly and let them sit. Once they settle you can usually get a few more drops in. And don't, for heaven's sake, let them get too dry. You'll notice the flavor gets kind of off,, when that happens, put a few more drops in and if you get a burnt taste, toss it cuz you can't ever get rid of that. Thicker juices will take longer to soak in too.. sometimes I blow through them to force the juice down,, kinda silly but it works! Sucks you have to wait til Monday!

I'm assuming you take the filler out because you want to then drip on them? I tried that only once, it works, but...you're much better off getting some good atomizers for dripping. Check out Avid Vaper.

Anyway, to clean a filler-less carto, my guess is you can just do what you'd do to an atty. Drip flavorless PG/VG, or just go ahead and drip your juice - there would be a short transition between the two flavors, but will get there eventually. Cinnamon and menthol are a different matter - they'll linger. You can try soaking them in alcohol (use "drinkable" stuff, like Everclear or Vodka, and not Iso-Propyl Alcohol / rubbing alcohol - that is toxic).

If you want to just clean intact cartos (with the filler left in), boiling is the way to go. But even that seems not worth the trouble to me.

2: can I use a modded 808 cartos to drip with my Kgo and an adapter

Yes.

Y'all sound like me with the tracking number checking. I just ordered a firefly kit from liberty flights and the tracking number says it will be here Monday...I have a collection of juice I haven't tried yet but I am thinking of making some more orders to try some more stuff along with a few different cartos and such that I am curious to try.

I hope you don't mind if I add to this thread. I've searched and watched some videos and I just want to make absolute certain I understand the whole dripping thing. I really want to try that method when I test juices.

I purchased a KGO kit. I see the atomizers. I see the one end that screws into the battery. When I look into the other end I see a small thing that looks like a wad of cotton. Is that the bridge? I also have these tube shaped pieces with a hole on the end that I'm assuming is where I draw the vapor from. It attaches to the cotton wad end of the atty?

Ok..this is where I'm a bit fuzzy and I really really want to make sure I understand this. I can attach the atomizer to the battery and actually drip 2 or 3 drop of the juice directly on the wad of cotton? then place the mouthpiece over it and vape that way?

Now..once I test a juice this way is it important to actually clean the atomizer some way before I try another juice? Or just let it go until there is no flavor?

Any help you can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

does your atty pull apart in 2 pieces? on the 510's there is an atty and a cartridge, that pull apart. the cartridge has the filler material, the atty usually has a wire mesh that absorbs the liquid. drip directly on the wire mesh(app)roximately 2-3 drops. take the cartridge and remove the filler material. place cartridge back on to the atty. start vapeing.
